Maybe you're confusing France with Quebec (which I think means " Cuba "

in french, for those of you with a public education).

Well, Lenny, for this purpose my definition of a "functioning government" was one that is, at least in part, (possibly even part of the judiciary!) independent of huge pharmaceutical corporations.  I'm old enough to remember President's Eisenhower's speech warning the nation of the insidious influence of international military-industrial complexes. I read somewhere that the French banned lead in paint in 1905. The US

banned lead in paint in 1978. Did it really take the US 70 years to

catch up to the French in knowing about this obvious problem?

That's it! Those French are always trying to show us up. First they

chow down all this fat and butter, smoke like chimneys and have less

obesity and heart attacks, now this. I really am going to start

calling them " freedom fries " from now on. Think they can have less

toxic kids then us...tsk.

I don't know about when the lead law was imposed in France, but I do

know that half the kids stuff at Walmart couldn't legally be sold in

some European countries. Yet some in the EU still have thimerosal in

vaccines. It depends.
