Guest guest
Yesterday Dylan got on the bike he received for christmas and rode it!! He has always had coordination difficulties and has basically sat on the bike several times with only limited attempts to ride (the pedals really threw him off). We took him to the sidewalk outside, he got on, and after a few prompts he rode it like a little expert! Also, this was the second weekend in a row that we got to go out and eat together as a family!!! Dylan even saw a busboy using a push vacuum (vacuums are my son's OBSESSION) and when I told him we would look at it later he sat down and started eating again. No whining or freaking out about touching the vacuum!
Guest guest
Thanks so much for the great post! it's really important to share the results people see both good and bad along the way of chelation. I have a few more questions. Is Dylan on a restricted diet? Did he tolerate the supps needed before chelation? This is only round 2-ever on chelation? Was there any regression so far? I'm so happy for Dylan, riding a bike is a BIG accomplishment! Guest guest
Yeah, I live for the posts about progress....really helps when I feel like I'm running in circles! I had Dylan on a very strict low oxalate, gf/cf, and low phenol diet. I do give HNI Peptizyde and No-Fenol too. This weekend and last weekend I did allow infractions (with a LOT of enzymes before the meal !! ) I'm still pretty torn on the whole diet thing. I don't really see a behavior difference when I give enzymes with food infractions. Actually, we went a whole month just using enzymes and giving him gluten and casein and his behavior was great. I went back to the diet because he seemed to be struggling with yeast ( yucky bms). So, now I just don't know what to do with the diet. Dylan has always tolerated supps really well (except for milk thistle...it's too high in oxalates) so he was on all the recommended supps for about 3 weeks prior to us beginning chelation. I actually noticed some improvements just with these (more pointing, wanting to know what things are, noticing more of the world around him) These are the first 2 chelation rounds ever. The bad stuff I've noticed is the yeast and I try to stay on top of it with biotin, threelac, and probiotics. Dylan also has a " stink " to him. Not sure if it's a result of the metals or the yeast but it sure does smell! He gets gassy too....but it doesn't seem to bother him (just those of us who have to be around him!) Thanks for the support! rathmanmom <dani@...> wrote: Thanks so much for the great post! it's really important to share the results people see both good and bad along the way of chelation.
