When the food is reduced to ash, the ash will be acidic. Mucus causing

foods are also known as acid ash foods because after digestion and the

burning up in the body, due to the acids and enzymes the ash that is

left over is acidic. Whereas, alkaline ash foods are the opposite. The

salts or ash will be alkaline and make your body more alkaline.

Did I make this about as clear as mud?

Terri-

When you body metabolizes food it is basically burning it for energy. So what is left over from the burning (metabolizing) is the ash. Like when you burn a piece of wood in a fireplace. Ash is left over. So after you body is done burning the food there is ash left over. The ash is either Acid, Alkaline or neutral on the PH scale. If a food's ash is alkaline, then the remaining ash or byproduct will have an alkalizing effect on your body. A good example of this is a lemon, which is an acidic fruit. Its ash is alkaline, so even though the fruit is acidic in nature, the end result is an alkalizing effect on the body. So if you were to take a blow torch and totally burn a lemon, then take a PH test of the remaining ash, it would be alkaline.

Hope this helps...

=================================

Hi Gypsi,

This is one way to determine what is a mucusless food and what is

actually good for your body. Acid ash food create mucus in the body and

make the body acidic (bacteria, fungi and viruses love an acidic body).

Alkaline ash foods actually nourish while detoxifying the body of mucus

and this leaves nothing for natures scavengers to clean up, hence no

bacteria, viruses or fungi as there is nothing there to support their

growth.
