Guest guest
We had one who couldn't tolerate DMG, it was given in the morning and by the evening she was literally bouncing off the walls and prompted my dd to call me and ask, what in the world did you give her? They say if they can't tolerate DMG to give it with folic acid, but she couldn't take too much folic acid without getting weepy so that was not an option here. Baker has a grid in his book, sorry can't remember the name, that is designed to help you decide which to start with, but you can do this on your own. They say to start with DMG as MOST kids tolerate it better, ours didn't. If it causes hyperactivity, try giving DMG with folic acid. If still hyper, then go to TMG, which was so hugely helpful for her, it raised her language level two years in just 5 days. Fwiw, I took just one DMG tablet and I reversed the words in sentences all day long and I was unwise enough to do this on the day I was seeing patients. [ ] Re: TMG reaction/try DMG From what I remember, some kids cannot tolerate TMG and do OK (or well) on DMG. For those who do well with DMG, TMG is apparently also a good thing. I don't recall hearing about kids who cannot tolerate DMG but tolerate TMG. Hyperactivity is the big reaction. I would give DMG a try. Usually, benefits are seen quickly (1 week). TMG is basically DMG with another methyl group. TMG breaks down to DMG in the body when TMG methylates homocysteine... perhaps your child's body cannot perform one of the steps in that process? Methylation problems. Give it in the morning so any hyperactivity isn't wasted on bedtime! As always, someone please correct me if (when) I mutilate science. My son was so hyper and active in the evening and at night, like he hasn't been since we started treat yeast. Guest guest
I also give L-carnitine to help the body absorb the TMG that I am giving my boys. Also you want to do a yeast protocal such as biotin because DMG and TMG cause problems with yeast.
