Hi Dave,

Is what you are asking is what something acts _most_ like penicillin?

Or are you really asking us if there is a _moss_ that acts like

penicillin?

If _moss_ is the word you really mean, perhaps you have confused

_moss_ with _mold_.

The Ebers Papyrus of Egypt about 1550 BC mentions using barley bread

mold on wounds.

The ancient Chinese had molds in their pharmacy.

Ask your self, if using mold is a dependable way to counter a life

threatening infection how is it that it fell into disuse between then

and more modern history.

In the 1929 Fleming discovered the mold _Penicillium spp._

can produce antibacterial chemicals.

What he invented, penicillin, wasn't in much use until the army

decided to use it during WW 2.

McKenna and Harrod Buhner both have written books

specifically about using herbs as or as an alternative to

pharmaceutical antibiotics.

Neither book mentions moss.

They both mention mold though really don't focus on it.
