Guest guest
Since I'm pretty new to this site I have a question. How and by whom is it decided that a pharmacy is or is not on the OK list? Is the LDN they make tested? Is it just word of mouth that people are getting better, having relapses? I noticed that the pharmacy I use, BelMar, is getting kind of a bad rap on the LDN Forum. Some say it's simply because they make quick release tablets, others because they don't feel better immediately. With MS I thought the idea is to halt progression not cure. Any improvement is a plus, Right? Just curious...Take Care,TonetteRRMS since 1996, SPMS since 2007Rocky Mountains, ColoradoLDN since May 2008
Guest guest
Hi Konnie, Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Thanks Art, I've contacted the website so we'll see what they say. God, I'd hate to be wasting my time (MS doesn't give me time to waste) with a bad pharmacy. I've also got an appt with mt doc and will hopefully get a new script so I can give Skip's a try.Take Care,TonetteRRMS since 1996, SPMS since 2007Rocky Mountains, ColoradoLDN since May 2008 From: Art Hansen <rtee54@...>Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: Pharmacieslow dose naltrexone Date: Sunday, July 27, 2008, 8:36 PM Hey Tonette,Dr. Gluck is the owner of the LDN website. Guest guest
Hi, I use a pharmacy in NJ, called Hopewell and have had very good service. Before that I was using a pharmacy in NY that gave TERRIBLE service and were often argumentative. I will not post their name, but if anyone needs to know who they are (if you are considering using a NY pharmacy), email me privately and I will tell you. In a message dated 7/29/2008 6:02:15 P.M. Guest guest
I pay $25.00 for a month's supply of 4.5mg LDN, shipping included. During the holidays they even throw in a sweet treat gift. Such a pharmacy! Grade: A-. I'd give them an A+ if the 2007 LDN Conference DVD were ready. Art -- > > Thanks Crystal, > I'm going to my doc to get a new script. Guest guest
Goodies during the holidays. That cinches it!! I see my doc tomorrow and I'm going to ask for a new script. I guess I just need to fax it to them to get the ball rolling. I'll keep everyone updated re: any changes. When I first started the LDN I have now I had an improvement in fatigue and bladder control pretty quickly but in the last few weeks that's gone by the wayside and I've even gotten a lot worse some days. I'm not sure if it's the LDN or the increase to 4.5 mg. Guest guest
Well I got a reply from one of the "wonderful people at the LDN site. Here it is. It is hardly worth responding to you -- after the time and efforT we have spent to make it obvious that one of the key items is to GET THE LDN FROM ONE OF THE LISTED COMPOUNDING PHARMACIES !! What is wrong with you??? And they ship promptly and they are inexpensive!! I'm a bit too upset to write more right now. I already have enough grief in my life with this disease without having to deal with crap like that. I guess I won't be telling anyone about the LDN site anymore. Guest guest
Tonette: Im sorry you have had an inconsiderate response such as that. You dont deserve it. Keep in mind that you operate on a higher level than a few very unhappy campers on here. I have gotten a few tips from you in the past and think you are a valuable forum member. I get my transdermal cream from COASTAL PHARMACY IN SAVANNAH, GEORGIA and I dont think they are on Dr. Gluck's list either, but if after listening to Dr. JM I think that's good enough for me! Please dont go anywhere, stay with the forum and just delete that email. I had one nasty response and just laughed it off. it's better not to give it any energy. Ive had a few emails with other posters and they have all been upbeat and very happy to help, just like you. Guest guest
Thanks for the kind words Sheila, That e-mail was from someone at Dr. Gluck's site www.low dose naltrexone.org I got it when I simply asked if they had any info on other pharmacies, including mine. I've gotten only nice and patient responses from the great people here. Guest guest
Hi Crystal, I'm not saying Belmar is no good, only that I have some doubts. And Tonette is right in saying that people with MS don't have time to waste on doubtful compounding. I don't have MS, but fibromyalgia, so the stakes aren't quite as high, which is probably why I waited and watched for so long before making the change. Not to say that fibro is not a real challenge with lots of pain, but it doesn't have the same potential for long-term damage, and I've had it for so many years that a few weeks is comparatively inconsequential. Really, I would hate judge any pharmacy unjustly, and would like to hear from others who have some experience with them. They sure look good on their web-site, and the pharacist I talked with when I called was very nice and helpful. All that said, I think you are probably right to remove them from your list anyway, pending further evidence one way or the other. Meanwhile, I took my self-mixed liguid last night, and though I woke up late and very sleepy this morning, I'm having less rib cage pain today. One day is not enough time, of course, to form any opinion. Will keep y'all posted after I get my order from Skip. Guest guest
I think Skip's fills the majority. Did you say your doctor brought it to your attention????????? You are quite lucky then as it is normally patients bringing the info to doctor's and begging them to get on board.
