Guest guest
Rice milk is cooked. As is almond milk in the store. I make my own almond milk: 1 cup almonds, soaked for at least 12 hours 6 cups water 10 dates 1/2 vanilla bean Drain and rinse the almonds. Put in blender with the water, dates, & vanilla. Turn it on and run until everything is liquified. Pour into a mesh bag and strain for sweet, smooth almond milk. We call it dessert at our house. You can buy the mesh bags at our co-op. They are nylon and usually used as reusable produce bags. Cheesecloth will not work. Also, you can make sesame milk the same way. Boutenko says to drink sesame milk if you are craving chocolate as that is a sign of magnesium defeciency. Sesame milk is very high in calcium too. Guest guest
I've used both, and am a die hard almond milk fan. The taste is better, in my opinion, and definitely the texture. I make it myself, and drink it in place of any dairy milk, though I haven't tried goat's milk yet (really mean to sometime soon). Just make sure it is from the goat, not a cardboard box or can.
