arachnoid cyst in autistic child

Hi,

Is there anyone on this list who has a child with asd who also has seizures that

are caused by an arachnoid cyst on the brain? my son just started having

seizures 2 months ago, first i though it may be direct side effect of ala

chelation (it may have been putting stress on his brain) so a bunch of tests

have been ordered, EEG showing abnormal brain waves in the left temporal lobe

area first. he was put on trileptal first, which did not control the seizures,

then on depakote which had terrible side effects for us, now tapering that off.

in the meantime we had his mri also that found a small arachnoid cyst in the lft

temporal lobe area, same where the seizures are located. his is small but is

obviously causing symtoms, some similar to his autism symptoms but many i can't

know as he is non-verbal and only some of his behaviors tell me about them.

changes in vision, hearing, hallucination, partial paralysis, seizures,

developmental delays, incontinence

issues, problmes sleeping, headaches. not sure if the cyst is treatable, and if

the doctors will be willing to treat it by some type of surgery as it is tiny.

but i was wondering about anyone knowing anything about cysts on the brain and

whether they are possible to treat biomedically at all? have heard about some

homeopathic remedies for it but nothing specific yet. diat may help but not sure

of much at this point. just lookign for people with similar experiences and

possibly some knowledge. thanks in advance! andrea

I know nothing about these cysts -- had never even heard of them until

I read this thread. But I have a son who is faceblind and has other

neurological issues. The only thing that has helped his faceblindness

any is glyconutrients, which have an anecdotal track record of healing

nerve damage as well. (For example, I used to have some numb spots in

one foot and those are gone. I have heard similar stories from someone

else.) Glyconutrients combined with both sea salt and coconut oil

have been the most powerful combination of supplements for me for

various issues. I have also had decades-old scars itch like new scars

and visibly shrink. So it seems to me that the body can repair all

kinds of things if given the right materials with which to rebuild.

Good luck in your search for answers.

You would do well to give his brain lots of the nutrients it needs to heal

(omega 3, etc.).

Also do not rule out the possibility that his problems are much worse due to

vaccine

damage or heavy metals PLUS the cyst - the cyst might be the only problem, or it

might be

one factor.

Good seizure control may greatly improve his neurological and developmental

state.

There are a lot of medications to try, plus the Atkins diet, GABA and magnesium.
