Guest guest
Hello, I'm new to this group, I have twin boys, 7 both recently diagnosed on the autistic spectrum. We are working with Dr. Klinghardt and was wondering if anyone has worked with him and or has feedback on his protocol for heavy metals, lyme, yeast etc.? This is all new to us and I want to make sure we're doing it safely. He's recommended DMSA as soon as possible. One of our children has silver fillings and I thought I had to remove them first, but he's recommending we get started with the DMSA immediately. Can anyone provide me with some thoughts on this and their experience with Dr. Klinghardt? Many thanks, Darci
Guest guest
Darci, I have no experience with Dr. Klinghardt, but please do NOT give your children DMSA or any chelator if they have amalgam fillings. Doing so will only poison your child more. I had three amalgam fillings when I started chelating my son. Just breathing in the chelator while I was preparing doses for my son would give me a huge headache because of the mercury being pulled from my amalgams. Chelators will pull the mercury from the amalgams into the body, increasing enormously the rate at which those amalgams are poisoning your child. I have just read on another autism list three incidents of children doing badly on chelation: two children after a challenge test/IV chelation and one because of once a day ALA. I just had a terrible weekend because I upped my own dose of DMSA/ALA to 25 mgs each and wasn't careful enough getting in my antioxidants. I could, unfortunately, give you dozens of examples like this. Chelation can harm people if not done properly. You are right to question this advice from the doctor. It is NOT safe advice. Guest guest
I have little confidence in Klinghardt because he changes his protocol constantly. That to me is a sign of somebody who hasn't really thought things through thoroughly but rather is trying this and trying that until he gets it right. Apparently he hasn't gotten it right yet because he's still changing. I saw him a few years ago and he said then that it is strictly forbidden to use any chelator except chlorella if you have fillings in. He repeated this like a mantra, as if to say " get it through your heads that... " Now you tell me he says DMSA is okay with fillings still in? That's a 180 degree turnaround. I've educated myself about Andy's protocol - quite different from Klinghardt's and even opposed in many ways - and am convinced that's the way to go. I've had great results with it. Unlike Klinghardt, Andy gathered all the available info (including some virtually unavailable info in foreign languages that he paid to have translated), thought things through thoroughly and came up with a protocol that has stood the test of time. Some things have changed - people find they often need to use doses far less than Andy originally recommended, but the principles have proven sound. Guest guest
The egroup BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism discusses Dr. Klinghardt's and Amy Derksen's, ND treatments as well as other progressive treatments that this egroup does not discuss. I highly recommend it. I was a former patient of Dr. KIinghardt. If their office squeezes you in for an appointment, consider yourself fortunate. Guest guest
Dr. Klinghardt's (I am not sure if I spelled this right) presentation on autism, electrosmog and things you can do. I found it interesting. http://www.lymeinducedautism.com/images/KlinghardtLIA_II.pdf ____________________________________________________________ Moms Asked to Return to School Grant Funding May Be Available to Those That Qualify. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3131/4d0fa1ce8230983379cst01duc
