After doing a little snooping around on the polio vaccine, I found that

the Sabine vaccine, which was given to us on sugar cubes, was a diluted

LIVE virus. The Salk vaccine, which is given to our kids and the next

generation, is NOT a live virus. So, perhaps there is something to our

theory about this vaccination causing us to be chronic lymers. Just a

thought...

By the way, thanks for all the kind words of support. We have a doctor

for the kids to go to on Monday on Long Island, Dr. Orens. So, keep us

in your prayers!

Lovette, good luck with Dr Orens, he is the one who trained the lyme doc I

started off with and I hear he is not good about followups, let me know what

you think of him.

Marcia: I've read some info about polio and theories on how it may

relate to CFIDS. I'm trying to find the websites, when I do, if you'd

like I'll e-mail them to you. Tricia

Hi Marcia and all. All the children in my country got the polio vaccine,

too. But I do not know about a green monkey virus. Stania

that is not all. all post war babies were exposed to high levels of

atmospheric radiation from the nuclear bomb testing all over the world,

and the increase in dangerous use of persistent toxins such as

ddt chlordane and dioxin really picked up after world war II.

if you read the studies on endocrine disrupting chemicals and the immune and

sexual effects on wildlife, you realize that vaccines are only part of the

story. we are all part of a big biological experiment no one signed up for.

If the kids were given the polio shot you really have nothing to be

concerned about. If the received the polio vaccine orally then you have

cause for a little concern. IT is possible to transmit the polio by saliva

for up to 2 wks after and through feces for up to 8 wks. Hope this helps.

From: TMod@...

I know my 2 nephews just received a Polio Vaccine, I believe it was a shot

(though not sure, are they given as shots) any way how long should I keep my

unvaccinated children away from these children, knowing that polio is shed.

Any info is greatly appreciated as soon as possible. Thank-you, Theresa

Polio vaccine

The polio vaccine routinely given here is the oral vaccine. Yes, we are

behind, arentwe.

My worry is the exposure to his classmates in the few weeks after they have

received the vaccine, and is it feasible TO worry or are we stressing over

nothing?

The kindy teachers came up with requesting the parents of the other 19

children in his class to notify them when their child is given the vaccine,

and at first felt it would be a good idea to state why, down to s

name. Well, alarm bells went off in my head over that but I understand

their reasoning to state why they re asking for this information- otherwise

some parents might not think it important and forget to say anything. So we

compromised by excluding the name, and just wording it that the vaccine

exposure could prove harmful to a peer. Even that I am worried over. I

dont want singled out by the parents, I dont want the spectrum of

AIDS being confused by PIDS, I had experience wiith that when my daughter

was in pre-primary and have heard some awful stories on this list with other

parents experiences and their childrens classmates' parents ignorance. I

told the teachers I would be happy to answer another parents questions if it

comes to it, but dont want everything broadcast to follow him throughout his

whole school life. As I say, it comes down to ignorance and wanting to

protect from that ignorance. The kindy class is staggered in the

coming weeks so that half the class has 2 days each for the next few weeks

until they all start together at 4 days a week (half days). So will

be with only 9 others for a few weeks. Knowing that most of the children

were being vaccinated before the school year starts, one of his teachers

suggested she call the parents of the nine children and check before

Tuesday (his first day) if their children had been vaccinated in the past

week or so. Then we make the decsion whether misses out on the

first few weeks of school, which I am loathe to do. He is so looking

forward to school!

Has this ever been a concern for the rest of you, or has the polio vaccine

been given routinely by injection for such a long time now over there that

it has not been an issue?

Even when the oral was given here in the country the only precautions were with

the day care workers who were changing

the soiled diapers. According to the pediatricians the only proven way of

transmission was through bowel movements.

of money for children health ... and there is a picture of Bill

putting the oral polio vaccine in the open mouth of a young child ..

" No wild polio has been reported in the United States for over 20 years. "

(Meaning any cases reported were from the vaccine.) CDC polio vaccine info

sheet.
