Guest guest
Here is some info for you Gayle... you got me on the coffee though..must have been the raw veggies... All unwholesome, devitaminized food must be avoided. Tea, coffee, liquor, white flour products, refined sugars, processed food, fried potatoes, red meat, pork and bacon should be avoided. All fruits and vegetables should be eaten as raw and as dry as possible. Despite skepticism from many doctors, there is little doubt that reactions to foods, such as dairy products and wheat, can provoke inflammation in some people. The following foods are most likely to cause an allergic reaction precipitating symptoms in rheumatoid patients: corn, wheat, bacon/pork, oranges, milk, oats, rye, eggs, beef and coffee. There have been reports that alkaloids in foods from the Solanaceae (nightshade family) can trigger or exacerbate inflammation. These include: zucchini, eggplant, tomato, white onion, white potato, squash and peppers of all kind(except for black and white pepper) Sensitivity to chemicals, either inhaled or absorbed through the skin can precipitate arthritis in some individuals. It has been reported that even intestinal candida can aggravate arthritis foods that help arthritis Phytonutrients found in cruciferous vegetables, isothiocynates and indole carbinols, may be responsible for the beneficial anti-cancer effects of cruciferous vegetables. These vegetables also help lower cholesterol, boost immunity, and neutralize toxins. The effects on the immune system and neutralization of toxins help control arthritis. These vegetables have an abundance of vitamins, minerals, fiber and protector nutrients. That is what I usually drink now, but don't tell DH! He thinks he is drinking kick-start high octane coffee! <sneaky grin> Dinner started about 6, I did not go to sleep until 11 or 12 midnight. I also had boiled tongue, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, lime, salsa. Cooked meat and raw veggies. How long a period of time are we talking here? Was the coffee decaf?Gayla <goatclearing@...> wrote: I have cut way, way back on coffee, but last night I went to dinner and had 1 1/2 cups with dinner. I could not go to sleep for hours, of course. But an interesting side effect was that my arthritis did not bother me at all until after the initial effects of the coffee wore off. I had thought that it was getting worse because of winter and age, but last night as I lay awake thinking, it occurred to me that it has been worse since I slowed down on coffee. Any ideas on this?
