Guest guest
Many parents give suppositories to their children while they are asleep. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. I am wondering if this is an overly cautious dosing or if perhaps we should ask for dmsa since its supposed to be less toxic. I also think suppositories are a traumatic but our doc thinks the taste of oral dmps would be too much for a 3yo. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions. Guest guest
I've not started chelation yet, but I'm pretty sure that from all I've read and seen here twice weekly dosing of DMPS via ANY method is NOT safe and definitely should not be done. It is not overly cautious, but is overly dangerous to dose just twice weekly. It is my understanding that DMPS should be every eight hours for 3 days on then several days off or not at all. You may want to check the files section and read about 1/2 life dosing. It is a much safer method than random dosing, no matter DMPS, DMSA or ALA. Kudos to you for asking and not just doing. Guest guest
Hi, I'm new here and need some insight. My daughter is scheduled for a DMPS injection this weekend. We are doing a 6 hour urine pre and post injection. What are the side effects of this? Will we lose all gains we have made with her so far?? I really don't know what to expect. How often would she get these injections? Thanks for any advice,

Guest guest
I like this one, for the overall explanation - sounds like it addresses (most) of the questions you have...post #215844...snipped and pasted below... === > > Our DAN has suggested dmps suppositories twice a week. I am wondering > if this is an overly cautious dosing No. It is irresponsible dosing. Giving a single, likely high dose, of DMPS twice a week will lead to more redistribution of mercury than elimination and thus will lead to long term worsening of overall symptoms. Suppositories are an inappropriate dosage form for chelators. > or if perhaps we should ask for > dmsa since its supposed to be less toxic. > The difference between the toxicity of DMSA and DMPS is so small that it is not something to include in deciding between the two chelators. Toxicity is related to the dose. Neither one is toxic at the dosage range used in Andy's protocol. What is toxic is the mercury and other metals that they move. If a person takes high doses of either one they will be damaged by the large dose of moving more metals than the person's body can cope with at one time. Oral chelation with DMSA, DMPS, and ALA using the small, frequent doses in Andy Cutler's protocol leads to a net movement of metals out of the body with a minimum of redistribution. Essential elements of his protocol are starting at the chelator dose that is appropriate to the individual and supplementing nutrients that are likely to be in short supply and necessary for healing. See the FAQ of this group and Andy's two books, linked to in the links section. > I also think suppositories are a traumatic You're right but our doc thinks the taste > of oral dmps would be too much for a 3yo. Moria has compiled links to archived posts on her web pages, which can be found by going to the love letters that are linked to on the home page here and from there to her home page. Guest guest
I realize you are going to get a lot of different opinions concerning chelation. I have been researching chelation for a couple of years now. My daughters testing came back as extremely high in mercury. We just started dmps iv chelation with a dmps mop-up (lower does of dmps) for a day or 2 afterwards. She has only had one round and is doing great!! She already seems so much more calm and social. We have only seen gains and no regression at all. She also didn't experience any side effects at all.. At least none that we noticed. Good luck. Guest guest
Check for info here: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ sally > > Hi Jen, > Here's my 2 cents! From my own experience with my son and from lots of research I would caution you to never do IV-DMPS. Transdermal dmps did nothing for us both times we tried to use it. I've never done oral dmps, but I will tell you that what we've seen with oral dmsa brings tears to my eyes! I just can't believe I waited so long to try it. Every child reacts to different things, but I heard alot of great things about oral dmsa and finally decided to give it a try. Of course only after spending tens of thousands of dollars on hyperbarics, iv-dmps, ivig..... > > Just thought I would share my experience with the whole chelation route! > Hope you find your " magic treatment " soon. > > Wishing you all the best, > Kate > > > > > ________________________________ > From: bohaysjmt <bohaysjmt@...> > > Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2009 9:57:39 PM > Subject: [ ] DMPS > > > Hi, can someone send me in the right direction in obtaining information > about chelation with DMPS?
