Guest guest
This is the site for the newest organization to help families and people with Developmental Disabilities. It was formed in 2007 from another arm of Family Sevices because so many state run facilities had been closed. It's a FREE service but that doesn't guarantee that the services they find for you will be totally free, many will qualify for FREE, etc. Too much info to even summerize here so use this website; Subject: BDDS Date: Saturday, April 26, 2008 12:31 PM (BDDS stands for Bureau of Developmental Disabilities. They are quick responders.. in gathering your info of needs, wants, etc. My daughter has just gotten 'signed up' with them. Already we have a case worker which we haven't had for 9 years or so. Whether the actual finding of service providers will be as quick remains to be seen. The info on this site 'warns' that all these services are very needed and there will still be a list... hopefully it wont be like the Waivers list though). & #65279; FSSA - DDRS: Residential Information (Main site is..) http://www.in.gov/fssa/ddrs/5293.htm Updated: 04/26/2008 12:30:01 (If you go to the main page, select the Residential section (in left side column) as I was directed by info on another page. Scroll down to BDDS as divisions are listed alphabetically. BDDS has divided Indiana into 'area' sections by counties so look for your county. I'm not sure they had the separate contact phone and online numbers for the areas of North, Central, South sections, so if they're not found, e-mail me at pegnbill@.... I have the info from the Indiana Resource Center for Autism** 'newsy quarterly'- the REPORTER, which is also FREE to Indiana residents. Out of state residents may Buy it, about $45 a yr., has lots of condensed info.. as does the website of **IRCA which anyone can access. Many other states have such service as BDDS available to them from gov't. family services... but probably titled differently. Many also have an Autism ACCESS org. similar to the IRCA. grandma peg
