We just bought a chamber, so spending a lot on switching over the pool is out of the question this year. Does anyone have any suggestions on an alternative which wouldn't cost quite so much? Thanks, Using Bromine, I think is the alternative. Hydrogen peroxide, which might actually be a plus, only it eats lexan used -- at least on our pool -- as the material of the pump basket cover. There's also -- theoretically, at least -- a pond system that could be used. Here's a website from the UK discussing it: _http://www.poolstore.co.uk/shopscr321.html_ (http://www.poolstore.co.uk/shopscr321.html) There is also something that isn't that expensive that is attached between the filter/pump and the pool that is supposed to reduce chlorine use by I think it is 80%. You have to start with a clear pool though. This one sounds great, and I didn't want to look at the price: _http://www.airwaterbestprices.com/chlorine,free,swimming,pools,spas,hot,tubs,no\ chlorine, swi mming.pool.htm_ (http://www.airwaterbestprices.com/chlorine,free,swimming,pools,spas,hot,tubs,no\ chlorine,swimming.pool.htm) Depending on the size of your pool, the price isn't bad: _http://www.chlorfree.net/_ (http://www.chlorfree.net/) I'm glad you asked this question!
