Guest guest
Proteins are the most difficult the digest, hence it will take longer after such a meal to comfortably exercise. You could try exercising before you eat. Adding a malic acid supplement to your daily routine. Cutting any meat completely out of your diet to see if it makes a difference. Hope this gives you some ideas. I have read in several articls that after a person eats, the blood supply concentrates on the stomach to digest the food and that can cause a lack of oxygen reaching the extremities. I believe that, but know that it doesn't bother everyone like that. Those that are bothered by it are thought to be a bit of a hypocondriac or mentally unballanced (nervous condition....???)<G>Any way, I have been exercising about 45 minutes a day and while it has helped some by gaining a bit more strength in my legs over all, I can't do the exercises for quite some time after I eat. You know, the extreme burning in the knees and muscles that happen when you over do a movement like a hamstring work-out. I have been eating a low cal, high protien regimen for some time now and have set my self for a one lb loss per week so hopefully I won't end up with a skin apron <ha ha..no joke!> I started keeping track of this on Feb 21 and have indeed lost nearly 2 lbs by the looks of my scale but not by the looks of me yet! Before I started this I was going too low on cal and not enough protiens and was actually malnurished. I got a software prog that lets me enter all the labels from all the food I eat plus it already has a huge listing already inputted and since i have been using that to count cals, nutrician, etc, doing well in that area. I keep cals down to between 1350 and 1450 and am eating more than i did before and loosing weight. Protiensaverage about 59g daily. I have been having to rest a while after a meal before I can even walk back to the kitchen! Help!!
Guest guest
Hi Lee, Is this any food you eat? or certain foods, does it happen when you eat meats or when you eat veggies, fruits, or both? What about juices? Coffee, salts, dairy? Do you have arthritis in the knee, how's the circulation? Do you take cayenne? MSM? Calcium? What is your eating diet anyway? How much water do you take a day? When was the last time you did any fasting, cleansing? Give me some more to go on. I've taken to resting some when i can. I have had this trouble as long as I can remember but not as bad. I eat all kinds of raw/frozen and some canned vegetables, green leafies, apple juice, apples, pears, grapes, pineaple, all types of legumes ('cept for peanuts,) rice, and lately have been doing some yogart and cottage cheese (low fats, leafy vegetables, Total Nutrician daily with raw egg and Kosher Soy; UDO oil, MSM, the B vitamins, calcium, vit E, vit C, multi vitamins. Some fish, some chicken breast (no fried foods), have started back to eating a slice or two of whole wheat bread recently, Oats and oat bran, raisins, cashew nuts, 1 cup of coffee in the morning (usually decaff), ... I use VERY LITTLE processed foods. No junk foods. I'm Label reader and do not buy anything that i know has MSG; packed in syrups, no sugar, 'cept what little is in some canned goods; no white flour, no pastries or cakes etc, do not use alcohol except a bit in tinctures, no red meats except on a special occassion which is seldom, I don't eat out and when i do, choose smorgasboard so can have salads and vegetables. I have RA, and also told I have FMS, but think it was probably confused with the RA as I, way back tested positive for RA. I have had a LOT of trouble with GERD but have it pretty well under control by getting system in better balance with Acidophilus, DGL and vegetable enzymes and being careful what I eat. Sometimes I can not eat galic nor raw onions and if too much cayene I bleed analy. I do use a bit of fairly strong Total Tonic though. I did a cleanse in January. I have gaul stones according to the sonic scans and have opted to forgo surgery for now. did the apple juice, olive oil and lemon cleanse and seem to be doing pretty well for now, although don't think they have all passed.. think one did the other night (ouch..ouch..ouch!!) Other than that.. just coasting. Have herniated disk (4-4th lombar) but opted against surgery on that and have go it under control. Mon, Wed, Fri I do light to heavy stretch exercises for 45 minutes ('nuf to work up a sweat) and walk at least a mile then on Tue and Thur do weights and relaxation exercises for 45 mins. Also work in garden and keep house and do some voluntary work, also been knitting and crocheting quite a lot past two months. With all this going on, I still have trouble getting up and down, but due partly to the exercises was able to use the bath tub this past week enstead of the shower. I can even get up from the floor now without climbing up a chair! In early Feb I got a soft ware prog to keep track of nutrician and found that I was being too skimpy on calories as well as protien so in order to loose some weight and also have more energy, have set my calory figure to between 1300 and 1460 and protien has been running between 40 and 60gr daily That is working pretty well, but though some of the soreness in the nerve lines is better, still have trouble with the pain after eating. I was 76 last Sept. Well, I've told you probably more than you ever wanted to know, so whatcha think?? Lee
Guest guest
> Just for a test why don't you eliminate everything that you are eating that comes in a can for a month? See if it makes a difference. Don't know what you are eating from a can, but the last time I checked inside a can it looked pretty nasty, especially if it is a tomato product. What is being leached from the can could be causing problems. > > Again, just my rambling thoughts - Shari only canned stuff are legumes if i don't have time to cook sprouted ones. and once in a while carrots. No tmatoes. Don't eat tomatoes as ot supposed toeat night shade family of fruits/tubers. for the past couple years no bread until just last January and started taking some, no more than 2 slices of toast a day. I never drank milk nor milk products and watched labels for imbedded milk products in other things, but decided in February to take some dairy for the calcium and protien. none of the changes I have made regarding whole wheat and dairy have caused any more leg pain than usual, however have more flatulance from the beans and dairy. I think because i'm taking more protien I am getting some muscle re- generation and strength in legs. I will try the Elimination regimen and see if that helps the legs. I am kind of afraid of changing too many things as I do have the GERD pretty well under control with the things I am eating. Dr had me taking Fosamax since feb 2004 and I stopped that in about Dec 2004 as it was causing big time esophagus problems. Better since I stopped it. appreciate you " rambling thought, " will try to do that and let you all know wha'hoppens. lee
Guest guest
Lee, If it is RA the more raw you go the better you will be. Suzitvksi <leo@...> wrote: OK. see reply to other post. I use the fruits in between meals for snacks or if apples, I can use them with an oat meal breakfast. It may be that I have had a low grade of RA all my life and that could be what has been causing all this. I will do as ou both have sugested. Thanks so much for your input.Lee
