A discussion group about Autism-Alzheimers-Parallels

This group is for the discussion of the similarities found in both

Autism and Alzheimers in particularly the feeling of the families

being robbed of the person they once knew. The parallels between this

two disorders are scary to say the least.

All my life I've been hunted by the image of my paternal

grandfather-confined to his room and trapped in his body because of

some kind of senile dementia. I remember him standing behind a gate in

front of his bedroom door, wearing white boxer shorts and no shirt. He

looked thin, frail and lost in his own world, just like many kids with

autism, including his own great-grandson Mickie.
