Guest guest
Sherry, I don't think ldn would give you flu like symptoms. Have you been checked for Lymes? Just sounds like something a friend of mine was going thru thinking it was MS and it was Lymes. I would call the doc and ask him about these symptoms. Guest guest
Hi Sherry that sounds familiar I am now on ldn. for four months and those pesky flue symptoms are with me when I don't get my pill at the right time but the next day is good if I get back to my schedule.Maybe it is the flue , but if it is it never gets bad! Guest guest
Its the same for me. I am on LDN for 3 weeks now. Had several short inflammations like ear, nose and bladder infection. I feel bad all the time. Only had 2 good days since I'm on LDN. I wake up with headache, feel tired and flu-like all day. The oinly time I feel a bit better is after taking LDN in the evening. I don't think thats normal. I know I have Borrelia in me (also the bacteria that causes Lyme). Tuesday I'm going to a doctor to see if I should stay on LDN, or Betaferon. What to do about the Borrelia, what to do with antibiotics (the only drug that make me feel good). I also wanna ask him about Noni. Guest guest
I wonder: have you been doing any natural means of treating your MS? Could this be a healing crisis? I know that when I first started to clean up my body, I felt fluish for several weeks and wondered why I was doing this if it made me feel worse. It was worth sticking with, though, as I got past that and felt very clear and very healthy. It could take longer, though, to get to that point. As for the LDN, I have been on it since Dec 19. I only have an hour or so at night when I feel better, but I am willing to give it at least 3 months. I feel like this is my best shot at holding this problem at bay. I have read, as we all have, that this is not really considered something to improve our current condition, but to keep further progression of the disease from hitting us. I am in a flare up right now, so I am just living day-to-day. I hope you will feel better soon. Guest guest
To find a dr who would prescribe ldn, I called the nearest pharmacy on the list and asked them for names of drs who prescribe this. > how did you get your ld?

Guest guest
Good afternoon, Sherry: It's hard for me to believe it's the LDN that is causing the problem. I'm more inclined to think that it is something else that your body is fighting since the LDN is regulating/boosting your immune system so it is capable of fighting now. I recommend, if possible, continuing to take LDN. When you have these flu like symptoms, check your temperature to see if it is up. If you are running a temperature, that is an indication that your body is fighting something. Guest guest
Since you feel better when taking antibiotics, I would think you have an infection somewhere in your body. Anyway, I'd stay on the LDN. Guest guest
I do stay on LDN, goes ok now. Yesterday I found out that I have a bactery in my bowel that causes me trouble, not just Borrelia. Thats why I react so great to antibiotics. Had no relapses since I started that in 2000. Before 2000 I had relapses twice a year. And a diet (or more avoiding the food I'm allergic to) helps. Guest guest
I had been supplementing with 2g D3 daily for about 8-10 months when I got the flu a couple of weeks ago. It lasted less than 2 days, and the main symptom was feeling like I'd been hit by a truck and couldn't get out of bed. Also briefly had a fever of 100 and still have the cough that started at that time. I feel like I got off very lightly. I don't know the actual degree of my CR, but I eat a whole foods vegan diet under which I've lost 20 pounds since mid August, so I'm sure it was significantly restricted. I eat no refined foods, including extracted oils and refined grains, nor sugar or artificial sweeteners, nor caffeine, and keep sodium below my caloric intake (mg to calories). I limit raw nuts/seeds to an ounce a day, limit cooked starchy veggies and grains to a total of no more than 1 C a day(sometimes none at all), limit avocado to 2 ounces a day. I eat at least 4 fruits a day, 1 C of beans, and as many veggies as I can, including aiming for a pound of leafy greens each day. I addition to D, I also supplement with a vegan DHA, a vegan multi-vitamin that has no vitamin A, calcium, and borage oil (for my skin). > > Hi folks: > > A quick reminder of my suggestion that if anyone here gets the flu, it would be really interesting for us all to know that. Guest guest
We haven’t had the flu but I had a mild cold earlier this fall and my husband currently has a cold. We take 2000IU D daily. We’ve taken a flu shot this year for the regular flu and are probably immune to the H1N1 since we’re in our upper 60’s – so nothing to report about the flu. I wish I could say that D eliminates colds and flu, but from personal experience, it doesn’t seem to eliminate colds. Since 1 microgram vitamin D3 is 40 IU, 2g vitamin D3 would be 80,000,000 IU. Thanks, Todd
Guest guest
Yes, it was an error. I should have said 2000 IU. > > I had been supplementing with 2g D3 daily for about 8-10 months when I got the flu a couple of weeks ago.
