Wayne died of cancer. The 40 pounds of fecal matter was probably an accumulation resulting from lack of peristalsis during the last couple weeks of his life. When one is dieing of cancer, the diet one is fed in a hospital is not known for high fiber content. When a person is bedridden and on massive amounts of pharmaceuticals to sedate pain, the bowels stop moving. Yes, people might be walking around with 5 to 20 pounds of fecal matter. It depends how much one eats and how long it takes for it to move through. My system has a 24 hour transit time. The food I ate for dinner yesterday is due out about 20 minutes after I eat dinner today. Any faster than that and I have partially digested food in the feces. I see 3 main factors here. What did I eat, drink, put on my flesh, and breathe? How physically active have I been? Have I emotionally been able to allow my body's parasympathetic nervous system time to do its thing? As for the " dried caked on fecal matter " issue, if its your large intestine you're talking about, if you fall asleep during your colonoscopy to proove this theory, don't worry. The dr. takes a video tape and the 2 of you can view it after the drugs wear off. They'll even send you home with pictures of your clean as a whistle large intestine if you ask. For viewing your small intestine they tell me the dr.s in Israel are using tiny little pill like cameras that one swallows so they can monitor the conditions through there. I'm not sure if while visiting Israel I'd want to fit that sort of research into my vacation adventure. There are other things I'd rather see while in Israel. Everthing one eats, drinks, absorbs through their flesh, or inhales has to be processed through the kidneys and liver. TOXINS? Yeah, our bodies tend to store the toxins our kidneys and liver can not deal with in our adipose tissue (fat). Penel

Yes, when someone dies their bowels do empty. I've never heard of cleaning a person's bowels before they die to avoid having a messy corpse. I think I will refrain from more comment on this. > was wondering if this would be to strong a thing to do for > someone not on a sick bed. I know this is not a natural way > of cleaning... but a thought... I having so much weight to > lose and knowing my past eating was atrocious... well every > little bit helps... Not really. What you want to do is retrain yourself to a good common ground of timely bowel movements that will process out not only the foods you ingest after gaining nutrients from them but also the toxins being released my your adipose tissue as you empty your fat cells of stored lipids. If I might add, don't beat yourself up for how you ate in the past. I'm sure it seemed like a valid coping strategy at the time. You don't have to be that person any more.
