My best guess would be to do a search and see what comes up. :-\ Peace be with you TerriLynne. -- Peace, love and light, Don " Quai " Eitner " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Hi Shari, In a post Suzie sent on the properties of various parts of the peach plant, it was suggested that peach kernels be used to reverse thinning hair. I thought it would be interesting to try for myself and perhaps for my youngest son who is beginning to lose his hair. May I ask what you wanted to do with them? I found many websites discussing peach kernels in different forms for different applications/uses. But I did not see, without digging, anywhere to buy them. Apricot kernels abounded, but no peach. HOWEVER, I did see many sites for beauty products that used peach kernels; but I did not check them out. Guest guest
Nettles and rosemary are too really good herbs for hair thinning. You can make an infused oil and use it before shampooing. Guest guest
Hi Janet, So you would just let rosemary and/or nettles stand in oil for a few days, then apply it to your scalp/hair? How long before shampooing? And would one kind of oil wash out more easily than another? Do you know what actual action is taken by the herbs? Guest guest
Infused oils are fairly easy to do. Just pour cold pressed or stone ground olive oil over dried herb and let it sit out of sunlight for a few days to 2 weeks before filtering and storing it. You can make a stronger infusion by pouring infused oil over more herb material for a second 2 weeks. Nettle is both astringent and stimulating to the scalp and has good mineral content as well, which probably accounts for its rep as a hair thickener. Rosemary is considered tonic, astringent, stimulant and diaphoretic. Good for any kind of scalp conditions you will see it in many natural hair formulas.
