Guest guest
You can either add it to a bath of it. .. or as tea but it is bitter tasting so you'll want to add another herb or honey... Guest guest
What about a paste of garlic and ginger applied to the feet? Guest guest
Yes even garlic cloves in oil would also help. though for fever I like the yarrow/catnip mix. Guest guest
Thanks, I do have the yarrow so I'll try giving him a tea after while. He has fever of 101.8 now, last night it was up to 102.7. I read last night a artical from DR. MERCOLA'S site about fever in children and He says to let them sleep. He also speaks of using Boneset but does not say how to use or how much, I do have Boneset, any info on this herb?? My Son has been asleep since about 8:30pm last night, He wakes up on and off and has gone to the bathroom twice. I've been giving him as much orange juice mixed with water as He'll take which is just a few sips at a time. I also made up the Horehound cough syrup last night and started giving him that this morning. He has been coughing some and I can hear some congestion when He breaths.. I wanted to ask, is it safe to use differant herbs at the same time? I'm also giving him Echiacea and Super Tonic. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
If nothing else, try a bath with the yarrow if he won't take the tea.. Guest guest
Forgot to talk about boneset. I've not used it... however, the dried leaves have been used to make a tonic, boneset tea, thought to be effective in treating colds, coughs, and constipation. But I have no experience with it or know anyone that has used it that I'm aware of... If the other is not working I would try it if it were me in your situation. I would stagger your herb doses... Ech and ST okay together... If he has congestion in the chest, garlic or garlic/mullein would be beneficial as a chest and/or foot rub. Guest guest
If he is really uncomfortable, feverfew tincture is very helpful in reducing these symptoms, otherwise let the fever run its course. Echinacea tincture for the next few days would be helpful as well. No dairy, lots of clear fluids and of course love ;-) Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: Eibhlin health Sent: Sunday, March 06, 2005 7:10 PM Subject: Sick little boy Hi All,My Son woke up this morning fine by 1:30pm He was starting to get really tired and layed down for a nap, He awakened with his head hurting and a fever.
