Guest guest
Hi, I must've missed what the " smallpox nightmare " was, could someone explain it to me or point me to where I can read about it. This caught my attention because, I was never vaccinated for smallpox as a child. In 1970, when I was fifteen, my family went to Europe. Before we left the U.S. I got a vaccination. While in Europe the vaccination site on my upper arm turned into a huge painful, hot skin eruption the size of a golf ball, I also got another one on the back of my head. I was really sick with a high fever too. Within a few weeks, I first developed Psoriasis, which I've had in moderate to severe form ever since. No need to tell everyone here what a burden it's been, along with the P.A. that showed up in my late twenties. That smallpox connection has always fascinated and bedeviled me, anyone else had similar experiences? Thanks for listening, in San Francisco
Guest guest
There were reports coming out of the middle east last week that small pox was going around in one of the villages. Thankfully they found it was the chicken pox! I had the small pox vaccination twice because the first time I was got it I also broke out in lesions on my back as well as where the shot was administered. I had several large areas of blisters and ran a high temp. Then they gave me a second vaccination because they thought the first one did not take. I did not have a bad reaction to the second shot. I am the only one in my family who had such a reaction to the small pox vaccination and I am the only one with Psoriasis. But I think it would be impossible to make a connection between that vaccination and Psoriasis because there are a lot of young people here who have P and PA but have never had the small pox vaccination.....Although I am like you are trying to find the reason why we have this mess going on.
