Guest guest
Pete, it really isn't a diet. The formula is to cut up one whole lemon (peel and all) and put in a blender with 8 oz. organic apple juice, 8 oz. of water, and 2 to 4 tablespoons of cold pressed olive oil. Strain and drink. Do this first thing in the morning or on an empty stomach at night. This is also a good liver cleanse. Ethel PArbeia@... wrote: > > From: PArbeia@... > > How do you do the lemonadi diet? Guest guest
Hi all -- These remarks about making lemonade when life hands you lemons -- guess that's a good attitude to have. Trouble is, especially since I had the implant done, I've been forgetting to add sugar & strain out the seeds! You've been encouraging in your remarks that this will get better.... Thanks, 'cause sometimes just the occasional phrase one of you has made is all that comes to mind during one of those low moments. It's great to have people you can count on to be " there " for one another, & I am very grateful to be part of this support group ~Pam. Guest guest
Dear Pam, Family and friends are wonderful. It hurts that my husband reacts the way he does and that my youngest son is so terrified of my experiences. Many of my friends have drifted away as I can no longer keep the same pace I use to and do all the same things. My daughter is my shining glory. I know it is hard for her and sometimes I get on her last nerve but when push comes to shove she is often right by my side. She is also 26 married two years and expecting her first baby my first grandchild and she has been wonderful about including me in everything. We have had or moments though as she is very very hormonal and I along with all else am very menopausal so like the other day when she ook me to lunch and the waiter said Ladies I have had a crabby day so don't give me a hard time. (He was kidding I think) Donie and I looked at each other and I said she is pregnant and very hormonal and if I get all worked up I could shock the heck out of you and also very menopausal so give us a nice table and I think lunch should be on you. that made him look twice. I have never been one who has like to do t hings alone. I am a people person. I mean I can do things alone but I would rather shop with a friend or family go out with a friend or family. The last two years of my life have been a serious battle of up and downs on the emotional roller coaster. One thing that has come out of it is I have learned that it is OK to be me. What ever that means a good me or a bad me. It is OK for me to need and to want and to fear and to be angry. They are my feeling. Sometimes I can deal with them and sometimes I can't. I have reached a new place in my life I call it my inner garden. Its a place where can go to be alone with me. Its OK guys I do see a shrink regularly I am not totally crazy. I have learned that I can't change anyone but me and how I do and see t hings. Does this make sense to anyone? Bob: And just what's wrong with kissing my sister? Lots of guys have. Just ask her current husband. (Number three last I heard.) As for her being a beer substitutre, I don't know. Maybe she is good for what " ales " you. A little lite longnecking, maybe? Bill BTW there is no such thing as too much ice cream, just not enough daysin a lifetime to eat all that you deserve. Guest guest
For all of those who prefer something other than lemonade. Remember that red wine is excellent for the heart. At least that is what I tell myself every time I drink a glass and then of course if there is no red white is still wine and it must have some good qualities too! Never was much a drinker but I do miss my occasion Bloody 's and Frozen Margaritas! Gosh I never really smoked and never really drank what else is there to give up. Guest guest
hi sharon, you write such neat letters and notes. i dont much care for lemonade either but i was given so many this year i had no choice but to try and make something of them. havent been handed any in a while so im counting my blessings everyday. the cardiologist got through to me like no one ever did, she said, very simply, bob, if you decide to commit suicide, please dont eat your gun as so many cops do, just start drinking alcohol again. same result, less mess for those who have to clean up after you. that one hit me right between the eyes, and i havent had an alcoholic drink since the 18th of feb at 8 pm. i quit smoking on july 15th at 4:00pm. and they put this god awful thing in me on march 7th at 9:00 am. isnt it amazing which dates and times stay with us. but on the other hand, ive had my amiodarone cut from 400 megs to 200 and hoping for another cut in three months. so far so good. im doing a mile to two miles a day on the treadmill and im back to lifting weights a bit. im feeling better than i have in years. and the worst side effect i have is from the coreg. makes me tired.. doc says that will go away after a week or two each time he doubles my dose. and im waitiring for results of my last echo to see if my e.f. of 10 has improved any. and the boat comes out of the water in two weeks. that is my bad day every year and as long as that continues to be the only bad day i have each year i guess i will have to think my lucky stars. all those lemons i put out back are still there. guess the deer, bear, raccoons, fox, turkeys, and all the other critters dont like them. by all bob in pa (and sharon i think you will somewhat identify with this, the tuffest part is doing it all by myself. you have your daughter and i suggest you thank your stars everyday. and shame on the rest of your family and friends that cant or wont support you)))))
Guest guest
Bob... personally, I like O'douls... but I never did like beer, much prefer wine... however, I've tasted other brands of non-alcholic beer and I think it's Sharps that I don't like... tastes too much like beer ... you might want to give it a try, you may prefer it over O'douls. JES in 'Jersey Happiness doesn't depend on how much you have to enjoy... Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: <IIPistacio@...> > Gosh I never really smoked > and never really drank > what else is there to give up? Don't ask your husband that. Aside from not telling you what he doesn't want to hear, he'll probably say something like nagging or an activity he finds equally offensive which of course you do not do. If you really want to give up something that is bad for your health, consider karaoke. Besides feeling much better, your friends will start visiting again. Probably not. When I did, the mold and mildew came back. Remember karaoke in Japanese means revenge for Hiroshima. Personally I think it's an overreaction. Best. Guest guest
Bob- Buckler's is good (no alcohol Heineken) and Haake Beck (no alcohol Beck's) is OK, but both are pricey. I am able to drink the real stuff in moderation now, but drank only non-alcohol during pregnancy (and not the first tri-mester when everything made me sick). I agree, I never could stand Sharp's. O'Doul's was OK, but really not satisfying. There's something called Clausheimer, or something like that, that was expensive and not that good also. Buckler's was definitely best. Guest guest
Kombucha. It's very simple. Also, your lemonade might not be ready yet. I would leave it in the fridge another 3-5 days and see how that works. Guest guest
Hope, It needs to be fairly warm for lemonade and the other fermented drinks to really ferment. If I don't get 75 degrees or better in the kitchen for good stretches during the process, I get almost no fizziness and little taste change. Start the process during a warm stretch or make a little incubator in the kitchen with a light or something - but turn on the heat! Good luck, Christapher Lemonade i tried to make the NT lemonade with whey and it doesn't seem to have fermented. The whey was made with pasteurized yoghurt-- is that what's wrong? i would like to make one drink from nt. Something simple-- any reccomendations as to what to start with? I'm trying to increase the enzymes in my diet, but if the recipies i try don't work then what? ~~hope
Guest guest
I like ginger limeade: peel and chop about 1/4-1/2 cup of fresh ginger root. Put it in a quart jar or bottle and add the juice from 3 limes, some sucanant (1/4 c. maybe), a teaspoon of salt, and a few T. of whey. Fill the jar up with water (make sure there is 1-2 inches of air at the top) and cap tightly. Let sit on your counter for a few days and shake every day. Then put it in the fridge. It's quite good, but sometimes turns alcoholic if you let it go for too long in the fridge. I like it mixed with seltzer water.
