Guest guest
I would like to know how to convert to a vegetarian diet without it being complicated What do you "usually" cook for dinner? What would be something typical you would serve? Is it thawing something out and putting it in the microwave, or do you whip up meals from fresh foods? I am trying to get an idea of what you feel is "complicated" and start from there. There are vegetarian recipes that can be made in 10 min. and others taking hours (marinating etc). There's something for everybody. Gloria
Guest guest
Some of the ingrediates are things 1) I've never heard of and 2) wouldn't know where to find it. Even some of the recipes that have been passed around here some of the ingredients I have no clue of what they are or even where to try and get them. I now know that a lot of the ingredients can be purchased at a health food store or natural store. However if your on a very strict budget and not everyone in the house is a vegetarian it can get expensive. Even the organic foods in the grocery stores are usually higher priced than the regular product. Guest guest
Deltona, FL. It's near Daytona Beach, FL. The funny thing is I just read in the paper yesterday about an organic co-op that I was going to check out. Brown rice I usually buy for myself because I like it and it has more fiber. I realize the stuff from the grocery store is processed but the attempt has been there. I also have put more raw fruits and veggies in my diet. Yesterday I started that 6 day cleanse that Suzi posted. Not too bad yet. Thanks for everyone's help and info. However if your on a very strict budget When you are first starting out, getting the staples can be expensive. Things like tamari soysauce, miso, different grains etc. These are things I always want to have on hand I eat more cooked food than raw) and buy about once a month. Once you get those things, eating vegetarian doesn't have to cost and arm and a leg. In fact you can start out by buying very little...a pound of brown rice, a little sea salt, and some veggies. It seems there are some areas that have more inexpensive sources of organic produce than others. Where do you live? Gloria
