You don't have to paint or cover your bottles unless they are sitting out where day light hits them.. on many of mine i have a big bottle and pour into a smaller bottle to use with an dropper... but I have some other jars I either use a dropper or tablespoon in to dip it out ...

you could even pour some out ...

Suzi,

This is another dumb question but could one cover the glass jars say with brown or wrapping paper or even paint the outside? I usually paint jars though of course I have not had any herbal stuff to put into them.

Also, I imagine that the tinctures would need a dropper bottle or would just the dropper itself suffice?

Thanks

Hope everyone is having a great day

Sunny here but brrrrrrrrrrr

Amber mostly... I've had most for years... I do like specialty bottle company.for their small bottles.. I am always on the look out for jars... thrift and second hand shops are good places.. Blue is good.. dark is only better than clear if out in the light.. as long as it's glass and in a dark cabinet it's fine.

Hi Toni,

The only dumb question is the one that never gets asked. You can do

whatever you wish with your jars and bottles. If you have them in a

cupboard, closet, or under the bed then you probably won't need to worry

about painting them. If they are going to be sitting where the sun

shines then you will want to paint them, paper them, or use amber some

such dark colored glass receptacle.

For tinctures, a dropper is nice but not a necessity. You can put your

tinctures into larger labeled jars and pour into smaller dropper bottles

as needed.

I keep my original quart jars of tincture in either a cabinet or a cardboard box. I then pour some into amber dropper bottles if I want to conveniently take some with me. I must say I am pretty lax in straining them. I have some big jars that have been sitting 8 months and I still haven't strained them. Guess it just gets stronger??
