Guest guest
Hello All, Long time no chat, but hopefully i'm back. Work has been running me ragged and i've gotten sick with another bout of the flu. This season is killing me, as usually, I don't ever ever ever get colds or flus. Hrm. Anyway. I have a friend with a fairly long and drawn out story which leads to her current issues, back pain and circulatory/nerve issues in her leg. I'm cutting and pasting her " story " from an email she sent me, and I am hoping that someone will be able to help me advise her. At this point, she's desperate as she just can't do all she needs and wants to be able to do. She's open to just about anything, energy or food wise. She eats many raw vegetables and fruits, very little meat or dairy. Almost all of her vegetables etc are grown on her property and so are organic. Thanks much all and best to everyone, sarah ine's Story My original injury was due to overwork and over stressing my back doing a lot of heavy lifting. I had developed a cyst inside my spinal column and it grew between two disks and about six inches up inside along the spinal cord. They took the cyst out and stripped the spinal cord of the cyst. They told me it looked like a grey mass clinging to the spinal cord. They messed up and most likely nicked a few nerves in the process. Then the second surgery was to try to correct the first surgery and then they also fused that joint, L5-S1 to be specific. The other two joints above that are also getting messed up, but they can't do a thing about that now. Since I can't bend at the fused joint, it is putting undo pressure on the two above it. There was so much scar tissue all over the place that the doctor couldn't do all he wanted to do. He went up 9 inches up my back because the cyst was still growing and climbed up further up the spinal cord. Fusing that joint will help prevent the cyst from growing back, but who knows if it has or not. All I know is that the last doctor had to stop what he was doing because he couldn't tell the good nerves from the cyst. Everything is completely out of whack. My right leg has been giving me problems when I walk because of all of this. It feels like I have a blood pressure cuff on my upper leg that is pumped up tight. It hurts like hell and then I lose my muscle control, which means I can't even stand up or walk. When they did the first surgery, they screwed up some nerve endings, so I have nerve damage, which they won't ever admit to. One doctor told me since my hips were out of alignment; the groin muscle on my right side got either contracted or extended. Now that my hips are back where they should be, maybe that muscle is acting up because it was so messed up for such a long time. I know this is all connected to my lower back because even the butt muscle on that side hurts all the way up to my back. At night when I am laying down, it feels itchy in that area of the side of my butt going down the leg... I am taking magnesium, multi-vitamins, C1000, B complex, ginseng, gingko, and I just added horse chestnut. With that added, at least I can walk a lot further than I could before. I've found a lot of relief since I've added the horse chestnut actually. I also make an herbal/spice tea for circulation every night which includes ginger, peppercorns, cardamom and cinnamon. I am doing everything I can to increase the circulation in my body so nothing builds up as far as toxins goes in my lower body.
Guest guest
When my son was 27 he suffered with a tumor in his spine for 6 months before the dr.s took an MRI and discovered it. I can't say I knew it was in there but I did tell him early on, based on Hara diagnosis, that the whole adventure was beyond my scope of practice. I knew it wasn't as simple as the Western dr.s first thought it was and began a mantra about how he needs to insist the Dr.s do that MRI that they eventually did. Once an adventure has gone beyond the energetics into the physical there are still times when it can be dealt with on an energetic level but not if there is a time factor. The client might die before the balance of energy has dealt with the physical. My suggestion for your friend is that she integrates a good acupuncturist with herb experience into her list of physicians. Western med. can cut things out. Eastern can, at the same time, be addressing the energetic things that seeded the adventure. Something like this can be cut out but if the energetic reason it started in the first place isn't addressed, its not unheard for for another one to grow or for something else to manifest itself in a different physical vulnerablity. (To illustrate this with a different pathology, every client I've had that came to me AFTER having their gallbladder removed has still shown to have issues enegetically with their gallbladder. They might not have mentioned the surgery in the intake form. I'd felt the energetic imbalance and mentioned it. That's when they mention they've had the physical organ removed. Yes, but the weird flow of energy that got them into trouble is still impacting their life.) Your friend doesn't have to stay with the first acupuncturist she finds. If she's not comfortable working with her, find another. They all have different qualities. She needs to find someone who works WITH her. I imagine your friend has been seeing a physical therapist? Into that group of practice suggest she look into someone who guides Feldenkrist. I've found Feldenkrist to be very much more boring than my own personal yoga practice but I've also found it very effective. (sometimes what we like or not is an indication of where our imbalances lie ;-) Integrating a self help routine as cautious as Feldenkrist might help your friend regain the emotional security of being able to influence her health again. Guest guest
Penel, Thanks so much. She has indeed been to physical therapy. They did a lot of pool therapy which just wore her legs out and made her ache for days on end. There's so much nerve damage, I think that's what's causing it currently. She also has had a procedure where they go in and try to deaden the nerve endings in her back and hips with needles, but the scar tissue is so heavy that they couldn't even get in there to do it. I'm wondering if the bfc tincture would help, or perhaps some sort of poultice to break up scar tissue and help her body heal. They have yet to get a settlement too, but the insurance company keeps sending her to have these crazy procedures done, to no avail. Thanks so much, Anne
Guest guest
I would add cayenne to diet. (ST). Also check the nerve regeneration formula, I would also invest in some pharmacutical DMSO.. Think about deep tissue oil, BF & C and MSM. Also a chiropractor of either accupuncture or that uses "touch therapy". Suzi PS are you taking super tonic??sarahlovell@... wrote: Hello All,Long time no chat, but hopefully i'm back. Work has been running me ragged and i've gotten sick with another bout of the flu. Guest guest
I know this is going to sound crazy.. but have her take baths in acv... acv has been known to decrease the scar tissue in some instances.. If nothing else have her drink it (equal parts water and acv with a bit of raw honey to sweeten) every day - even twice a day Suzisarahlovell@... wrote: Penel,Thanks so much. Guest guest
<snip> > Also a chiropractor of either accupuncture or that uses " touch therapy " . With caution a chiropractor who does acupuncture. I know a couple up here in Chicago who've attended both chiropractor school AND acupuncture school but in Illinois any chiropractor (and MD, osteopath, or dentist) can do acupuncture with nothing more than a hundred or so extra hours of study and can probably only use the acupuncture to treat symptoms at the most. (the dentists in this state can't legally touch anyone below the neck. I had some friends who had a dentist in their massage therapy class so he'd have a legal power to be able to touch people other than on the head.) If they say they do acupuncture, ask them where they studied the craft. Penel
Guest guest
> What is the connection between Feldenkreis classes and divorce? Why? No, it was a nine month hatha yoga teacher training program and divorce. We watched the other students as they went through the program. What happened was, they were growing and their families weren't. The spouse who wasn't in the class couldn't understand why they didn't want to sit at home drinking beer, eating chips, and watching endless hours of meaningless tv. Or something similar. That plus the fact that it was every week end and a couple evenings a week for 9 months probably put a lot of relationships over the edge. My husband taking the class with me was the envy of the whole class. I wish I'd gone through Feldenkrais. To teach that its 4 or 5 years study. If I wasn't committed to 8 more months of herb school and finishing up my shiatsu education next spring at a Buddhist monastery in up state New York, I'd soooo be there to join the class starting here in Chicago this coming May. In 5 years when I'll get another opportunity to study at a Feldenkrais teacher training I'll be 59. 5 years later when I grad. I'll be 64. The grandmother who gave me her mitochondria lived to 105. I have plenty of time. I just need more patience. Penel
