Dear Group,

This is my first post to this group. I just want to say hello and introduce myself. I have been dealing with pulmonary sarcoidosis for many years.

Currently, I've been on Imuran for over two years, and wonder if there are any other people in this group that have been on long term chemotherapy and can share their experience.

Two years ago, I could not walk up a flight of stairs, now I am a lot better, not well, but better. I'm wondering if there are many in this group that deal with autoimmune disease processes?

I recently finally won my disability hearing, which was a long and very challenging process (2 years), but am so grateful to have finally won. I feel like I should have been on it years ago, but anyway am glad now that I am on it. I want to encourage anyone trying for disability to hang in there, you deserve it, and don't let anyone, including an ignorant judge tell you you don't. The system is so ridiculous, with the doctors that they hire to tell them exactly what they want to hear, rather than the truth, but anyway, I got through it and WON!

I'm jumping right in without reading many posts, but just want to say hello to all.

Thanks,

Kat

I am not going to say it did not hurt because it

hurt really bad. I do not remember a lot of it

though, I went into shock as the grease was hitting

me. I guess it was shock. What happened is I could

hear a sizzling noise as it hit me and it kind of

echoed. I remember hearing screaming and wondering

who it was(my daughter said it was me). My daughter

told me a lot of stuff like me taking a cold shower,

putting on loose clothing and driving to White

Hosp. She said they cut my clothes off and packed me

in ice. I do remember the Nurse and Dr talking as

they made phone calls. One of them said if Tampas

Burn Unit had no room that they would have to Bayflite

me to, I think Houston, could have been Dallas,

though. Then I do remember the EMT calling Tampa when

ambulance was in route. He asked could he give me

something for pain, they said yes. My daughter was in

the front seat looking back at me. Then I saw my

brother in law in the elevator and when they were

debrieing me the Dr bent down and looked me in the

eyes and said next time they do it I would be put out.

I just remember the sound of water running and a cold

metal table.

Is it Curley who was asking about her period? I did

not have one for about a year the Dr told me once my

body was out of shock it would return. LOL, and boy

did it! Had one every 2 weeks for 6 months, to make

up for lost time I suppose. The EMT was a wonderful

person he stayed with me till around 8 am in the

morning...it all happened around 11 pm.

Dawn that is great about your father. Was it

Silvadene they used on him? What was his percentage

of being burned?

There was a guy named , who was in with me he

was burned 94%. Only place on him not burned was in

the genital area. They used pig skin on him. Hot

water (gas) exploded when he was working on a car

cleaning stuff with Gasoline. That happened to a

friend of mine Dusty , when we were teenagers.

He ran out of the garage fully inflamed and fell in

front yard. They think he was dead when he landed or

close to it. There was an imprint of his body burned

into the grass, and it seems like it stayed there

forever. I haven't thought about Dusty in years. Is

funny how something can remind you of things.

Hi all, new to the list, been reading for a few days since a friend sent me

a link. I'm a NREMT-B in NYC, been NY certed for a little over a year and

had the national for about 6 months.

I'd say this varies from state to state and even within the states

themselves. RSI is getting to be pretty common, as well as sedated tubing,

tubing of conscious pts I've seen done a few times but LOC is usually very

low, traumas asthmas and intoxs being common im my exp. As for C-spine, in

nyc it seems hospital providers have no concern for it as it's inconvenient

for them. Around here transport times are so short that we often dont even

get to bag the pt for a few seconds before we arrive and the latest

protocols have emphasized the lack of necessity for intubation in the field,

backing up the AHAs 2 person BVM with cric pressure is just as good in many

cases. I've sees some of the shows you speak of and it's pretty common to

see very early tubing, especially with long tx times and other conditions,

but i've not witnessed it more than a few times in a bit less than 2 years

riding. HTH, feel free to email me if you have more quesions.

Subject: Getting Rid of Moths in Pantry

Don't know how to get rid of moths, but I would put my stuff in BIG glass

jars. That's what I put my staples in. And I have a second refrigerator just

for seeds, nuts, and grains. And an occasional over buying of produce lives

there too!

I get gallon size wide mouth jars at my co-op for $3.00 with lids.

Just my idea - Shari
