Guest guest
When I first started drinking distilled water, I was easily drinking a gallon a day without trying. I probably drink almost a gallon a day, sometimes maybe even more. I don't drink distilled though. There seems to be so many conflicting ideas on that. I drink reverse osmosis which I think is pretty good. Gloria
Guest guest
It's also suppose to make water wetter, so it is a better hydrator. Is that clever marketing or what? Water wetter, eh? I think I may have heard of that awhile back. I just drink my reverse osmosis because it's cheap (25 cents/gallon). I figure I'm already ahead of 99% of the population in daily water consumption. Of course I also go to the bathroom every ten minutes! LOL! Yesterday I was reading an ad saying that if you go to the bathroom more than 5 times a day you should see your doctor because you might have overactive bladder. I thought..I go about 15 times (at least!) when I really go overboard with the water drinking. And I have no intentions of seeing my doctor! ;-) Gloria
Guest guest
Suzanne wrote: " Eight glasses a day? Are you kidding?! " It's really not that much. Eight 8-ounce glasses amount to about two quarts of water. This is okay for the average person, but if you're overweight, you should drink another eight ounces for every 25 pounds of excess weight you carry. You should also up this if you live in a hot climate or exercise very intensely. ==================================================================== When I first started drinking distilled water, I was easily drinking a gallon a day without trying. There must be something to it if most of us are really dehydrated and the distilled water stimulates thirst (unlike bottled or filtered water). Recently I was reading about ?pi? treated water, which is some kind of magnetic whirly that makes water come alive so one does not drink " dead water " . Guest guest
I'm with Gloria, I drink reverse osmosis. I don't like buying water and then it gets transported in plastic jugs which is a whole new story. Phytoestrogens in plastic leach into water, yada, yada, yada.... And no, I don't want a distiller in my tiny house to be running as often as I would need. Reverse osmosis is fine with me and it removes the flouride the silly city thinks we "need". Guest guest
Is it alright to drink just filtered water from a PuR water filter? If not, what other kind of filter can I use? I don't have a distiller yet. I think Sears sells them don't they? Guest guest
Shaklee sells a counter top model for ro water. Reverse osmosis is a three stage filtering system. I have seen under the counter models at COSTCO. They can get pricey, but I can't stand city water. One day I turned on my faucet and it smelled like the swimming pool! I called the city and they did send a guy out. Here's what he did - walked to my front porch, turned on the water to the hose and drank from the hose. He then declared "there's nothing wrong with your water"!!!! Of course not, his sense of smell was burnt from the first whiff of chlorine! Guest guest
I think you may want to investigate r.o. equipment before buying. They are quite pricey (for me anyway). Shaklee is a multi level marketing company and I can put you in touch with someone that is very successful with this company. I am a member only to use their facial products and buy my filters. COSTCO is like a Sam's Club or a warehouse store type place. I think they are exclusive to the Pacific Northwest as they are a family owned business. Guess you could put COSTCO in Google and see what happens. And lastly, I think Culligan (I think it's a national company) has a reverse osmosis set up for under the sink. Just know too that two of the filters need to be changed every year and the other one every two years. Different models are different prices. Some are VERY expensive. I think it costs me almost $300 when I have to change all three of my filters. Shari
Guest guest
COSTCO is also in the northeast. I don't know where else. We just had a carbon filtration system put in on Monday. Vince has had two gout attacks since we moved into this house (after none for years up north) and we discovered that the city puts a ton of chlorine into the water. That and swimming in the pool were just too much for his system. I'm hoping that with drinking the filtered water he'll be able to swim in the pool....otherwise I have a $30,000 hole in the ground he can't use or will need to spend more to change the purification system. But the carbon filter is a tank which is sunk into the ground outside at the water inlet into the house and everything coming in is filtered. The carbon will need to be "re-banked??" every one to two years, depending on how much water we use. Installation of the system was $895 and it will cost $199 to re-bank the carbon whenever it needs to be done. Guest guest
Someone said they didn't like reverse osmosis water and they liked distilled. I don't like distilled but like ro water. Was just wondering if it made a difference where the water came from or how it tasted to begin with. Shari
Guest guest
I prefer the distilled water as it has NO taste and RO water has a musty taste.....even hubby says it has a taste but he doesn't mind it.....I hate it and gag when I drink it. We have tried 3 different brands and it was the same.....even with the culligan. It could have something to do with location, not sure.....I am in Canada. I have also never been able to drink tap water. Guest guest
I'm not on metered water so I just let it go back down the drain. It will be back and I really don't feel like it is wasted. How can you really waste water? What I let go down the drain dilutes all the crap others put down the drain. Sort of like recycling to me. Shari ----- Original Message ----- From: Carol Minnick health Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2005 12:30 PM Subject: Re: Another reason to drink alot of water What do you do with all the waste water? Do you save it? Or just let it go down the drain. Seems like such a hassle to me to collect the waste water and use it for flushing, or whatever. Carol ===================== From: MorningGlory113@... Guest guest
It's funny, I insist that we all have our glasses of water handy. Even guests, friends that come over, have come to expect it. " How's your water? Need more? When did you last have some? " That sort of stuff. And we three usually sit in our bed at night and watch a movie or something, and Marilyn and are just so used to the fact that I always have water handy that it is second nature for them to ask, " can I have a drink? " They never even think that I may not have water. I ALWAYS do. Gotta love it!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Doing the hot/cold, with a balm I make of cayenne, wintergreen EO, olive oil, and bees wax. My right hip was pulled out of joint. You probably heard me screaming at about 11:30 our time when the dr put it back in. Right arm looks like hamburger, goose egg on the back of my head, left shoulder completely useless. It's funny, actually. Falling down steps in real life is nothing like in the movies. It hurts! And my arm is so messed up because, egotistical me, I protected my face. But ya gotta laugh!!! Ya just gotta!!!
