Guest guest
Don, you make me laugh! I've never even tasted baklava so I had nothing to compare it to so it tasted wonderful, to me. Here's the recipe: 6 firm apples 2 cups pecans 1 cup raisins 1 orange 1/2 cup agave nectar 1/2 cup lemon juice 2 T ground cinnamon 1 t sesame oil 1/2 t sea salt 1. In food processor, process raisins, chopped orange (with peel), sesame oil and salt into a thick sauce. 2. Core and halve apples. 3. With spiral slicer or mandolin (as thin as possible) slice apples into the thinest slices you can. 4. Toss in lemon juice. 5. Coarse chop pecans. 6. Mix pecans with agave nectar in a small bowl. 7. Spread layer of apples on the bottom of an 8" x 13" glass sheet pan. 8. Spread layer of 1/2 of raisin past.e 9. Top with layer of 1/2 of agave/pecan mix. 10. Layer of apple. 11. Repeat steps 8, 9, & 10. 12. Sprinkle top with cinnamon. Carefully serve small rectangular pieces with a sharp knife and narrow spatula.
