Guest guest
Just wanted to mention, if the Dr. didn't give you anything for them antibiotic ointment works really well, like Neosporin. I used to get it all the time as a teenager and I STILL don't know what caused them!!! Jill Ramos, Las Vegas, NV
Guest guest
sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. My son had it the last week of Christmas break, what we did was soak it with peroxide till the crusty stuff came off, then dab on some lavender oil. We did this 3 times a day. He healed quickly ....and smelled pretty LOL actually lavender is a natural antiseptic, and it only stings for a couple seconds, then soothes. Guest guest
If a person wants to use over the counter medication, Neosporin works very well. That is what our school nurse used. Guest guest
My daughter had the same problems as Zack. The impetigo kept on coming and dutifully the doctor prescribed antibiotic after antibiotic for this until we said STOP!. We then used neat tea tree oil on each of the sores as soon as we saw them. She smelled of the stuff for 6 weeks and then the impetigo went away.......... Try it it really works. (seems ridicul;ous to give systemic antibiotics for skin troubles.....) Jacqui [ ] ANDY MOre about Zack's history I nursed Zack until he was about 6 months old. (regret not continuing!). When he was about 8 months old, he developed sinus/ear infection. This continued to be chronic. He was on antibiotics for the typical two weeks, they would not work, the doc would put him on another, it would not work, then another would be prescribed and finally he would seem to be well for a short period. This happened continually until age two. Took him to another doctor (we moved). This new doc questioned his immune system since he was on antibiotics for the past 6 months, for chronic ear/sinus and impetigo that wouldn't go away. (But he did not do any type of testing) Zack developed impetigo when he was about 15 months old, and still has it now. The new doc put him on two different types of antibiotics at once. This cleared up the sinus/ear infection. We went about two months and an ENT advised tonsils and adnoids be removed. We did that. Zack was 2 1/2 at this time. He stayed well through the summer as far as the sinus and ears were concerned, but the impetigo kept cropping up. He was on antibiotics off and on until age 3. Went to specialist for impetigo and he was put on antibiotics for 30 days. He was just over three when this was done. The impetigo was chronic (still is). This cleared up the impetigo and that is when Zack started doing the odd reversal in speech. He was not on antibiotics again until this past Thanksgiving and that was for 6 weeks. That is when he really regressed, became antisocial, withdrawn, backwards talking, trying to put clothes on backwards, etc. Now Zack has the impetigo again. It has been back for about five weeks now. I have used the bactriban continually, on the sores and up his nose. None of my other boys, (3 more), catch this from Zack. I even give them baths together and they have never gotten this from Zack. I am planning on taking him to a dermatologist next week. I want to be able to cure the impetigo without oral antibiotics. I am so afraid of what the antibiotics will do to him.Get more from the Web. Guest guest
OK, thank you. I will definitely give it a try! Do you get this at the local health food stores? Or do I need to order it? There seems to be a lot of different tea tree oils out there. Do you still have the bottle? Could you look on it for me and see if there is a web address, or a address, or a phone number? Thanks! Guest guest
I live in South Africa and use the Australian brand " Thursday Plantation " available here. It is one of the essential oils, so any health store or drug store etc should stock it. We now use it for any skin outbreak. Jo-anne never gets impetigo any more. Apparently tea tree oil does not destroy the surrounding tissue that the Bactrobans do. It only goes for the Staph (causing impetigo). Obviously this is an immune system problem that should be addressed with the appropriate antioxidants etc from inside. And don't kill off all the skin bacteria with the " antibiotic " soaps that are all over the place. Just dab tea tree oil on the affected areas at l;east 3 times a day or whenever you remember. Don't get it in the eyes, nose or ears, it burns. By the way, it is also a treatment for external fungal infections. I'm sure that if you look on the internet you will find a stack of other uses for this oil. Let me know how it goes. Jacqui Re: [ ] IMPETIGO OK, thank you. I will definitely give it a try! Guest guest
My son had this a few months ago. I cleaned it with peroxide, then put lavender oil on it, it went away in less than a week. You need to soak it with peroxide to get the dead skin off so the lavender oil can get down into the area and do it's work. My son (15) was glad he had it over Christmas break, he smelled so pretty Schmidt Family wrote: > I live in South Africa and use the Australian brand " Thursday Plantation " > available here. Guest guest
Hi Bee, Thanks for replying again. I'm fully with you re healing reactions and the skin. And I knew the sores would get worse and spread as the toxins were coming out. If it were my own body and skin I would certainly ride it out and 'enjoy' the thought of all that healing taking place. However, my son's starting to get distressed. He's developing a sore on his face near his eye. (This is all happening on the right side of his body). I've been sending him to school with the sores still on his back as they are covered and no one can see them. With the sore on his face, once it erupts, he won't be allowed to go school. It agonises me, because your program has literally saved my life twice now, so I appreciate it so much. But tonight I am going to commence the antibiotics. Blessings, > > > > > > Hi Bee, > > > > I've been applying the coconut oil to my son's sores on his back. > > > > However, the sores are spreading. > > > > But, now as his mum, I'm starting to get a little panicked at times. > > > > > > I'm thinking I may give him the antibiotics. > +++Hi , > > As I wrote before his skin problem will get worse before it gets better because of how the body heals and detoxifies itself.
