Guest guest
Hi Don, I printed this all out so I will not forget anything.. :-)) I did make the Fig Syrup today after soaking um, but can you believe I forgot to do the reducing and just added the glycerine in like that.. Sooo I started a new batch soaking, the Figs and prunes like you told me..I'll let it soak for 24 hour and will make sure not to forget to reduce it this time. I tasted the other Fig syrup I made earlier and it taste very good. Also I added more water to the Figs that I had soaked and blended them but I think I put too much water in them cuz they are not as sweet as the syrup is but I'll still drink it up.. Yummy.. You gave me a good idea about making my own prune juice and Fig juice and plan on doing that in the near future. Where I live here in Arkansas I can't get the fresh Figs only dried from the health food store but I know all about how good fresh figs are, I'm from S. LA. and My family still have Fig tree's there on their property on the Gulf Coast. Every year growing up We had to pick Fig's for My Mom to preserve them. That was a sweet treat to us young ones and where blessed to beable to enjoy Fig's through out the year. Ty agian..
