What is buffered vitamin c? How does it differ from other c's? And, would powdered rose hips be as effective, more effective

Buffered C is a non-acidic form of Vit. C. When you take megadoses of C, you don't want all that acid in your system. The regular acidic C gives me diarrhea and stomach cramps. I take Natrol Ester-C Powder with Bioflavonoids (it's all in one bottle) that I get from iherb.com. I have been taking megadoses for Vit. C. for years (I have gum problems) and this is the only one that doesn't give me the runs and I see immediate healing results. I take about 5000-7000 mg. per day, (divided up throughout the day), and in the event of any infection, I up it to 10,000 or 15,000. Rose hips are fine, but I would spring for a bottle of buffered C w/bioflavanoids powder if I were having any type of dental surgery as your friend is. Heck...I'd take them both! I'd suggest taking a dose at night right before bed, as the body does most of it's tissue repair and healing when we are asleep.
