Guest guest
Here’s a good article I have about Bell’s Palsy. Carol Bell’s Palsy and Natural Healing Bell's palsy is the paralysis of muscles on one side of the face as a result of impaired facial nerve conduction. This can happen from nerve or nerve root irritation or injury. The good news is that most people affected by Bell's palsy improve and completely recover. The likelihood of complete recovery depends upon the extent of nerve damage. Causes of Bell’s Palsy: What triggers the nerve impairment is not known, but the condition is presumed to involve swelling of the nerve due to injury/trauma, extended exposure to cold, a virus, an immune condition, a deficiency of blood (due to functional constriction or actual obstruction of a blood vessel), or pressure on the facial nerve as it goes through the narrow confines of the temporal bone. Bell's palsy is also called truck driver's syndrome, since it can occur after driving with the car window down, allowing the wind to continually hit one side of the face. Symptoms: Pain behind the ear on one side of the face often appears first. Facial weakness soon develops, which can lead to sudden paralysis on one side of the face. That side of the face with the paralysis can become flat and expressionless, and the other side may appear a little distorted. Often the patient cannot close the eye on the affected side of the face. Because of paralysis, chewing may become difficult on the affected side of the face. Taste, salivation, and tear formation may also be affected. Natural supplements that may help: 1) Systemic enzyme therapy (enzymes used on empty stomach) is used to reduce the facial pain, swelling, and inflammation and to stimulate the immune system. Enzymes improve circulation, help speed tissue repair, bring nutrients to the damaged area, remove waste products, and enhance wellness in general. Digestive enzyme therapy is used to improve the digestion of food, reduce stress on the gastrointestinal mucosa, help maintain normal pH levels, detoxify the body (which decreases the drain on our body's enzymes), and promote the growth of healthy intestinal flora, thereby strengthening the body's immune system. 2) The use of probiotics and wild crafted blue green algae may maximize enzyme activity. They can also improve the absorption and bioavailability of various nutrients and decrease the drain on the body's own digestive enzymes. 3) Metabolic enzymes from wheat sprouts can supply the body with superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase. These metabolic enzymes help fight inflammation and are considered potent antioxidants that can reduce free radical damage. The above information came from this following book: Cichoke, J. (1999). The Complete Book of Enzymes Therapy. Garden City Park, NY: Avery Publishing Group. pgs. 134-135. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Would you benefit from a more effective and healthy immune system? Guest guest
the nerve damage causes numbing, tingleing and pain. the nerves around the lips are the most sensitive nerves in the body, I can usually tell when I've been exposed to a toxin no matter what other effects it's causes as usually my lips start tingleing and numbing immeditly. some times this goes much further. some toxin exposures can bring back numbing, tingleing and the pain involved ,not only in my face but my whole body, and for several days to even a week+, I cant stand to even be touched because it hurts and I just acke all over. some can even bring back twitching, the muscle spasms, jerking of the lower extremes and other effects and think goodness I dont have to go through that very often, not fun. just exactly what I suffered through during my WDB exposures with the CNS and PNS damage. probaly why I had a hard them walking or wobbleing for quite a while. webbles wobble but they dont fall down, but sometimes I fell because my feet were not working like normal, neither was much of anything else. what can you do about it? practice advoidance and hope that you dont have to get around anything that causes these effects to come back. > > Does anyone have any idea if mold poisoning is related to Bell's Palsy (idiopathic facial paralysis)? > > I've had feelings of my arms or lips/tongue being paralyzed myself, so I wonder if that problem could be mold-related as well. > > If so, what might one consider doing about it? > > Thanks, >
