Guest guest
Hi all, I mentioned this before but am writing now in hopes someone has an idea of what this is. I am trying so hard not to panic! LOL The ball under my tongue swells. It is swelling as I write this and it feels like my tongue is being yanked apart. It hurts alittle but I think it is just more of the panic feeling that bothers me more then anything. It doesn't happen as frequently as it used to but also, today I became extremely fatigued (not uncommon with CFS anyway) and developed some usual cold like symptoms along with an earache in both ears which I have now had all afternoon. Maybe something to do with the ears? I'm trying to be calm here...lol Any thoughts? Oh and Suzi, I gave myself a big duh when I asked you where the baker cyst was..lol at least I was correct in stating what I had, had. Thankyou Blessings, Toni
Guest guest
Toni - I have had exactly what you describe and holymother does it hurt! It looks like there are testicles under your tongue, right? Sorry, but I have no idea what they are or how to remedy it. Someone told me they are saliva glands that are clogged. I didn't do anything to them and they did heal but it took forever. I had it happen twice in one year and now I have had an outbreak again in the last year after not having one for a couple years. Haven't pinpointed the cause. Do you have other sores in your mouth? I get other sores along the gum line that are not canker sore, plus I get spots on my tongue that are extremely painful. Have you ever been diagnosed with gum disease? Just curious as I have one dentist telling me I have it and another saying I don't. Thought maybe there is a connection. Keep us informed of what you find because I would be very interested. Good luck - Shari
Guest guest
Salivary gland swelling (usually on both sides) is also seen in alcoholics. Interesting. I never had this when I was drinking. I've not had a drink or drug since April 1, 1987 and have had the inflammation in the last two years. Hmmm........... Shari
Guest guest
Hi Shari and Suzi, Well, I had to take a sedative last night because I was truly feeling like someone had my tongue in a vice. Share, you made me laugh with the holymother comment I understand it has something to do with the salivary glands but still do not know what the heck causes it. I don't get it as often as I used to but it just came out of the blue yesterday. I do have an earache in both ears since yesterday so I am wondering if there is any connection this time around. Years ago, a doctor called it something or other. LOL sorry I am senile and am forgetting much. I don't have gum disease that I am aware of and no sores.I definitely am not an alcoholic though there are plenty of excuses to be such but that is too expensive and well I need all the brain cells I have. Suzi, a friend of mine is getting horseradish for me possibly this week so maybe I can start on the super tonic. Can someone please give me exact quantites of each of the ingredients? I would appreciate it. Hard to believe that I was a wiz in Math And to Don...well of course that testicles under the tongue thing made me chuckle..although Anyway, it is alittle better now and I do so appreciate your response. I would have written back sooner on this but I was truly tongue tied. If I find out more, I will post on it. Since I am a human search engine I need more lives to accomplish all I need to find. That and a brain that retains would help too. Wishing all a wonderful night Blessings, Toni Toni - I have had exactly what you describe and holymother does it hurt! Guest guest
Salivary gland blockage? My A & P teacher last semester mentioned that once happened to his son at 4 years. It was kind of scary until he got a medical diagnosis. As a Phd in A & P he had a clue to what was really happening probably more then the dr. that diagnosed it. His suggestion to us if it ever happened to us was to really hydrate. I gather its like having a kidney stone in the salivary gland, if that's what's really going in here. I imagine it is possible to have cancer of the salivary glands. That would take the adventure to a whole new level. Penel
