Hello Lu!

It's good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the kidney infection. :(

I don't have information about your question, but with your permission I'll

send your message to someone else who might know (I'll leave your email

address out of it).

I didn't want to do so without asking first, though.

wishing you well,

rachel~

Hello flushers!

I have been on digest for a few weeks, I had a kidney infection but am feeling

better now. I am still having problems though in the lower right quandrant of

my body so my doctor wants to do a CT Scan....there are problems with this

though....I am highly allergic to IVP dye and could potentially die if I ever

have it administered again... so they were going to use another non-ionic dye to

do the imaging provided I took a med pack the night before consisiting of:

prednisone and benadryl.......now this posed a problem because I am extremely

allergic to prednisone as well....so then the Radiologist suggested an Ultra

Sound but my doctor still wants the CT Scan and told me to go ahead and prep

like I would for the CT Scan except no IV Dye at all.....the prep is to drink

Barium Sulfate......Now this brings me to my question...I cannot find much

information on the net about this stuff other than some toxic information for

the environment......has anyone had this stuff....is it dangerous? I am a

nervous wreck thinking about having to take this stuff and having a potential

reaction....like getting sick for months or years.....horrors going through my

mind.....the Radiologist scheduler did not have a clue nor did the clinic nurse

so they told me call on Monday to talk with the radiologist to find out any

potential side effects.....does anyone on the list here have any information

about this stuff or have ever had it administered??? I am seriously

considering cancelling the whole deal over my nerves here.

Peace

Lu
