Guest guest
yes my aunt had her gallbladder removed a month ago and has been in the hospital every since with pancreitis and it is not looking very good for her. They lost some stones somewhere inside and thought they got them all but now know they didn't. Now she may have to have another surgery........if she makes it through. I need to know how serious pancreitis is? She can no longer eat they are feeding her with a tube in her neck at this point, she is in constant pain as well. Any information will be appreciated. thank you
Guest guest
I am so sorry to hear this about your aunt. Unless she had pancreatitis before the gall bladder surgery, (I realize pancreatitis can be related to gall bladder disease)it sounds like the Dr.s are making up stuff to cover themselves. I looked up some definitions on the web. Maybe you should try that. There is a legal website with a definition of pancreatitis. http://www.injuryboard.com/lvlTwoInjury.cfm? varFrom=SearchResults & Injury2ID=111 Maybe they have heard of cases like your aunt's and might actually know what should be done. There is an article in these archives about knicking the ducts or something and that it ends up being fatal. If I had any say so, I would find some kind of specialist to go in and see if she needs a repair. THis is so frightening. I am sure she was told, it was safe and easy, and there are hardly ever complications. Well the complications are 100% when it happens to you. She either did or didn't. The surgery didn't give it to her. You said something about them losing some stones or something, I think? It is really dangerous if they lose any of the stuff inside the gallbladder. They have to be really careful about getting it all out of there before they pull it out, so they don't spill stuff. If stuff was spilled, I believe this could make her very ill. I just remember my surgeon telling me how very important it was not to spill the contents of the gallbladder when removing it, because that could be very dangerous. If she did not have pancreatitis before she went in there, I would be suspiscious.
