Guest guest
In searching through one of my herbal books, I have found that Milk Thistle is used for all sorts of liver ailments, including the prevention and treatment of gallstones. Has anyone used this? Has anyone experienced good results with it? Jay, yeah, I take it. Right now I'm taking Dr. Cabot's Livatone, which has Milk Thistle in it. When I'm out of the Livatone, I still take Milk Thistle. It's good stuff. I also have found out that in my case, magnesium helps. Sometimes I take magnesium chelate and sometimes magnesium citrate. I get magnesium caps from the health food store that's a Solaray product. I take 1 cap three times a day. Susie
Guest guest
Thank you Dawn. The information that you provided corresponds to what my herb books relate but it is often difficult to extract what herbs should do, to what they actually do. Milk thistle appears to be relatively cheap, and while I don't have the symptoms of a liver disorder, one of my current focus's (foci?) is detoxing my liver and cleaning up my GB. I feel that the heavy duty GB flushes that I've been doing in the last couple of months have been very beneficial and will be relating in a couple of days just a bit on my most recent experiences I think that I'll do the MT for a while also. Thanks again, Jay Dawn wrote: My books also say that if you eat poisonous mushrooms, that milk thistle can save your life and reverse the liver damage. I have a friend at my church who has Hep C. He was doing the chemotherapy treatments and was dying. He has since quit that and started on milk thistle. He now looks great, (he was jaundiced looking) feels great. His number still show the infection, but he told me himself that he feels fabulous. Dawn

Guest guest
Yes, I have a Milk Thistle herb combination that I use. It is quite good. The benefits of Milk Thistle are fairly well documented. I don't use it as faithfully as I should, however, so am not certain that I am getting the full benefits...your email may be just the encouragement I need to get back with it :-) L.
