Guest guest
Greetings, Have recently learned & been reading about the various body cleansing (liver flushes). A friend of mine recommended that everyone do the olive oil flush, which when he told me, I had never heard of. About me, I'm a 43 y/o male, in good shape, only about 10 lbs. overweight, and have no health problems that I'm aware of. Strangely enough, I have recently been experiencing an occasional VERY mild sensation in my lower right abdominal region (again, no pain what-so-ever, just an " awareness " of something), so I'm considering doing one of the various forms of olive oil flushes. I'm leaning towards the grapefruit concoction. With all the different recommendations & protocols etc., it's hard to know exactly what to do. I'm probably going to just do about a 2 day organic apple juice fast, and attempt to do the flush this weekend, if I don't receive too many negative responses. Is it absolutely mandatory to begin colon/bowel cleansing PRIOR to doing the flushes, or can this be incorporated later? What about the parasite eradication I've been reading about. Unless you're buying these already prepared programs, all these various " mystery " ingredients I've been reading about is making this seem like a difficult process. Therefore, have many or any of you just decided to " keep it super simple " , and just do the fast & flush, or just a flush? Any other MUST have ingredients I should include (epsom salts, etc.?)? Another concern is,...I seem to be reading about people doing multiple flushes over short periods of time. Someone even wrote about doing numerous flushes every couple days. Is this thing sort of addictive? Are some people becoming " flush junkies " ? Again, this is my first time ever considering such an idea, so pardon the inquiry. ~Chris

Chris; I can certainly appreciate the fact of the fear and confusion of doing a flush using one of the various methods and then finding it next to addictive. The three things that you plan to do are; liver/gallbladder flush, bowel cleanse, and parasite cleansing. These are all good things to do with a problem being as to which to start doing first. Well from what you said about your weight it sounds to me like you are already eating fairly healthy and that your only concern is the discomfort you're feeling in your right side. I'm assuming you mean the area just below the brest area and above the lower adominal area. I know this feeling well. The bowel cleansing will pretty well be helped by just eating a diet that has lots of good fiber and is very low in saturated and hydrogenated fats. You can help with a parasite cleanse at the same time by eating the very fiberous pumpkin seed, making sure to chew it well. I have also done the two day fast drinking organic apple juice that hasn't been pastruized. In fact I just simply would do a juice fast and have apple juice to keep me going throughout the day. I would also use the grapefruit juice version of the flush since I like grapefruit juice anyway and especially fresh pink grapefruit. I would say you are on the right path regarding looking after your liver. I just hope you're not a heavy drinker as that can certainly have a detrimental effect on the liver's health. Moderate drinking can help but that's a tricky subject into which to delve. Welcome to the group too. Dale
