Guest guest
" My only concern about the garlic - if it has antibiotic properties, will it kill the beneficial bacteria if eaten in large quantities ? " Hi : That's a good question and I don't have the answer. In everything that I've looked at, there is no mention of this. I've owned at least 2 books on garlic, read library material, and searched the Internet, but haven't found anything one way or another. In many places you will find that if you take prescription antibiotics that you need to replace the beneficial bacteria, but have never seen this about garlic. By the way, garlic has some humongous parasite killing properties. In a fraternity house " game " some guys were testing the effects of beer on leeches that they had attached to their arms, and one guy ate garlic instead of drinking beer. His leech died within 2 hours of ingesting garlic. None of the beer drinkers leeches even quivered! Jay
Guest guest
" ...one of their traditional sauces is chopped garlic mixed with olive oil. they eat it like we eat ketchup here. my ego got the better of me that night and i tried to eat as much of the sauce as he ate. about 4 ounces. i was in bed for the next 4 days passing lots of large worms.... " " ....there is an art to learning how to use these foods for healing. i look forward to the day when i can handle eating alot garlic.... " I agree about the learning how to use foods for healing. Each person is different and each person has to listen to their own body. The book that I quoted about garlic removing heavy metals including mercury indicated that garlic assisted the liver in this process. Do you suppose that the garlic in combination with the olive oil passing through the liver accelerated the parasite disposal? Hadn't thought of that before, but will probably add some garlic to my lemon juice the next time I flush. Perhaps it will assist in the removal of toxins. Garlic was associated with witches and " strange " ethnic groups in the home I grew up in. Even onion was almost never used because it " produced gas. " I ran into garlic as an adult when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer several years ago and read that garlic kills prostate cancer cells in the lab. I've gone through several iterations of ingesting large quantities of it since then, and then either forgot or got tired of that harsh action on my tongue. However, I'm now doing a lot of juicing and find that I can juice a large number of cloves of garlic with carrot juice and it goes down very easily. I don't care for carrot juice by itself, it's too sweet, so I generally cut it down with celery. I have never had any adverse reaction to garlic no matter how much I consumed - even the whole globe that I juiced yesterday. I can even eat a couple of sauteed chopped onions in one sitting and never get the " gas " that my family objected to. One of my problems is that I can eat anything, without a problem. Right now I'm trying to do nothing but fresh juices before my next flush. By the way, much to the chagrin of my surgeon, I still have my prostate and my PSA (prostate specific antigen) tests not only remain low, but have declined in the past few months. Guest guest
jay you are correct about garlic and parasites. it is the most aggressive parasite killer i have encountered. i do believe you that garlic will also remove metals from the body. it makes sense since it is very high in sulfur. the sulfur foods are precursors to glutathione which is one of the means by which the body removes metals. my problem is that i am also dealing with parasites, so i can't handle alot of garlic. too much too fast = pain. two years ago i went to a lebanese friend's house for dinner. one of their traditional sauces is chopped garlic mixed with olive oil. they eat it like we eat ketchup here. my ego got the better of me that night and i tried to eat as much of the sauce as he ate. about 4 ounces. i was in bed for the next 4 days passing lots of large worms. i would highly doubt that ANY raw food would disturb beneficial flora. probably the reverse is true. part of the problem with foods like garlic is that they are so powerful and very underestimated in their power. some people don't feel well taking them because of the cleansing reactions. chronically ill people will have very intense cleansing reactions. there is an art to learning how to use these foods for healing. i look forward to the day when i can handle eating alot garlic.
