Guest guest
Hi Dawn, I've posted about my doing colonics before, but don't know if I've related the actual experience or not. It has been a very positive experience for me, although I no longer have my GB. The practitioner who does my colonics has said I most likely have a spastic bowel (one with kinks, or abnormal twists and turns), which explains why I experienced quite a bit of cramping and broke out in cold sweats during the first several colonics. The last one I did, #7 last week, was a breaze in the sense that there was very little cramping. My practitioner told me that the liver cleanse is much more successful if your bowel is clean. It has to do with the toxins your liver releases during the cleanse. If you're clogged up, so to speak, the toxins will just be recycled in your body. For those who don't care to read more graphic details, just stop reading now. It is important to go to a very experienced practitioner, one who is gentle, but knows when to massage deeply, and one who is patient...it should take at least an hour for your first session. You usually prepare by undressing from the waist down, and then lying on your side covered by a sheet. The practitioner inserts a tube(s) ( one for the water to go in, and one for the waste to come out) and you roll over to your back. He then slowly allows water to fill the tube up to the outside of your body, then he says, " Are you ready, " and the water slowly enters your bowel; it's usually warm in temperature. As soon as you experience a feeling of being too full, you tell him, and he stops the water flow. During the time the waste is coming out, he massages the bowel, and occasionally massages pressure points on the upper thighs. The first time, I was not able to hold much water without experiencing quite a bit of cramping...this, after doing a lot of herbal bowel cleansing and 8 liver cleanses. My husband, on the other hand, who's had no bowel problems, felt very little cramping...but, everyone is different. Each successive colonic I've done, there was improvement. The most marked difference I felt though was the last one I did. The first 6 I did 1 week apart, and then waited 2 weeks between 6 and 7. I'm going back for #8 after another 2 week interval. He said I should be able to wait 1 month after that. Hope I've been helpful. Adrienne azdmarie <nortons@...> wrote: I am also considering a colonic. I know what they are and how they work, but I would really like to know anyone's personal experience and how they feel it has helped their gallbladder if it has. Thanks, Dawn
Guest guest
Thanks Adrienne. What is the approx cost per session if you don't mine my asking? I don't think there is anyone in my area that does these, but I'll call the health food store and see if they know.
