Guest guest
> From: chris bennett <lochmabon@...> > I am wondering if the mercury exposure may be the cause of my " plugged " liver...that my body, going into protective mode, bound the mercury in some fashion, which lead to the liver get clogged up? Your theory makes sense to me...and fits my experiences. Christa, I'd like to hear more about your raw/vegan diet. I am vegan too and often but not always totally raw. When I was little and in grade school there were all kinds of sources of mercury abounding around me. My mom routinely put mercury solutions on my cuts and I remember seeing and handling free mercury on a number of occasions. From my earliest memories my mom was taking me to doctors. I had asthma when I was age 3 to 5, all kinds of childhood diseases, allergies to everything, plugged up sinuses, and my eyes would swell shut so it was hard to see. I don't remember the asthma but I remember the humidifiers which made it so uncomfortable and hard to breathe, made me soaking wet and miserable. And I remember my parents trying to hold me down trying to give me shots, and me running round and round the kitchen, dining room, living room, and back round and round again screaming trying to get away from them. This is when I was 3. One time I knocked the syringe off the table and it broke. My mom says the doctor told her to try without them for awhile and see what happened. By this time I was practicing blowing my air out and holding my breath. No surprise, the asthma went away! The doctors were always telling her I had a high white cell count and a couple of them said I had an enlarged liver, whatever that is. By the time of the last visit to one, which were becoming rare because I was becoming more obtuse, I was in high school and getting to where I just refused to go to them any more. I wish I'd had that much sense when I was much younger. In 1974 I was fortunate to find Dr. Norman 's book, Diet & Salad, which I'm sure has saved my life. I went totally on raw freshly made vegetable juices and nothing else for four months. Before that I ate meat every day but couldn't tolerate it after that and haven't eaten it sense. I am age 56 now (just had a birthday). Wish I would get a year younger each time but it doesn't seem to work that way although Dr. , who lived to be age 118, also wrote the book " Becoming Younger " . I still have six of his books and these lists are inspiring me to get back to making the potassium drink daily again, which is carrot, celery, parsley, and spinach. Although I don't care for spinach but have other herbs and veggies that I use instead. Also, I much prefer the flat leaf (itlalian) spinach and don't care for the curly kind. Among some quotes from " Diet & Salad " pertaining to health and the liver: " Raw carrots contain all the elements and all the vitamins that are required by the human body. " " Raw carrot juice stands supreme, always provided that it is strictly fresh [use the best organic juice carrots you can find, they vary greatly in quality] and has been property made. It is a particularly wnderful cleanser of bile and waste matter coagulated in the liver as a result of years of wrong eating. " " In some instances the skin becomes discolored ... I have found this to be the result of the coagulated bile in the liver dissolving so fast that sluggish kidneys and bowels were not able to take care of it's elimination quickly enough resulting in the lymph carrying this excress debris to the surface for elimination through the pores of the skin. " " This discoloration disappears sooner or later. " When I was totally on the juices, my hands did have a slight discoloration but nowhere else and it wasn't bad at all. To the contrary I considered it a sign of great health and that my system was pure. I felt great and wonderfully healthy and everyone around me was kind of amazed at what was happening. Especially running. I was racing every week and taking minutes off my times, every week. I took 45 minutes off my marathon time in a matter of months that I'd been trying to do for a couple of years. And another 12 minutes in the two years after that. A guy who'd not seem me for a year said I looked great and thought I'd lost 30 pounds. I'd only lost 5 but had lost much excess body tissue and become much leaner. To summarize, I think the juices cleaned out my liver and gall stones and not only that but much more. On another list they are talking about coral calcium, which is evidently only found one place in the world, which is Okinawa. This powdered coral calcium is $98 a pound plus shipping. I checked. Well it sounds great and I want to live a long time but $98 a pound is expensive and I'm skeptical of something that comes from only one place in the world but there are alternatives. One of these alternatives and one of the foods very highest in calcium are CARROTS. I used to get 25 pound bags of fresh organic juice carrots for $7.50. I'm not sure the price now but let's say they are $15. At $.60 a pound that's more than 130 pounds of fresh organic juice carrots for $98! Well I think 130 pounds of fresh organic juice carrots will do me as much or much more good than 1 pound of powdered coral reef. I will think of this the next time I'm getting carrots and thinking of the cost.
Guest guest
-----I'd like to hear more about your raw/vegan diet. I am vegan too and often but not always totally raw.----- Currently, I am about 90% vegan and about 70%-80% raw. Before the flushes I was about 70% vegan and about 50% raw. I do eat free range eggs that are fed flax seed (about once a week) and I will occasionally buy some " gourmet " cheese without rennet (usually goat cheese - about once or twice a month). When I eat out, depending on the quality of the place I am eating at, I may eat a bit more dairy than usual...and it hard to avoid the omega 6 oils that they put in everything. I rarely cook at home. The most cooked food I eat is when I eat out. I am working on transitioning to 90%-100% raw/vegan. I don't know if I socially manage 100%. On my own I know I could...but it is the eating out part that makes it hard. Christa
