Saunas

I've recently obtained access to a dry sauna and it seems to be helping

me tremendously with my overall health. It is not a near or far

infrared sauna, it is just a sauna -- probably made in the 1970's --

just a heating coil inside an aluminum housing with some rocks on top

for splashing water on... all inside a Swedish type wooden closet.

I take my own water for the rocks -- don't want to be breathing in

chlorine at 180 degrees.

I typically sit in the heat for 10 minutes, then take a 5 minute cold

shower, and repeat this for a total of four rounds (1 hour). It seems

to have helped me hugely in terms of my overall mood, health, sleep,

and overcoming negative side effects from chemo I had 6 months ago. If

I want to get luxurious, I bring some naturally sparkling water (e.g.,

Perrier) to drink during the cool down portions.

Are you no longer a member at that gym?

I don't have a sauna, but I contacted west coast saunas to see if they have any

at a gym in my area. My hope was to talk the gym into a short term sauna

membership to see if it would help. There aren't any near me- best wishes to

you.

Has anyone purchased an infrared sauna and thought it was worth it? I want some

feed back before I spend that kind of money. I know when I used to use the one

at the gym I went to...back before being too sick ....it helped.

Thanks for any input

Eileen

I think my far infra red sauna box is awesome. I don't use it all the

time....but when pain starts to appear...I usually get in and it gets better. I

do not respond to things like most people...so I can not say it would help

others.

I am no longer a member of the gym.....and they wouldn't reduce the fees for me

just using the sauna. Maybe I'll find one for sale some day in my local paper,

haha.

Here is a link to the one I have and it works very well with no issues and I can

pack it up and take it anywhere. It is also just 300 bucks. Copy and paste link

I have a friend that invested in one at home. She swears by it. I wish I could

afford it.

RE: [ ] saunas

I think it helps, at least with detoxing if not with borrelia itself. I don't

use it often as I end up wanting to stay in for a long time and it totally wipes

me out. Am thinking of starting to use it just 10 minutes a day... will report

in if I notice anything of interest.
