Guest guest
You are smart not to let your Cholesterol level get too low but you didn't mention whether or not the 'total' was low. With the brain the organ using the most Cholesterol, you don't want to get too low because there's some evidence that as we age, with a very low cholesterol the brain power is diminished and perhaps some of the serious aging issues are the result. You again illustrate that eating properly is still better than not and you are wise to recognize that more is needed than diet when battling cancer. When speaking about successes others have had there's always the possibility that their success is also enhanced because they avoided the horrendous conventional treatments while doing Budwig et al. This doesn't mean Budwig didn't help, on the contrary, just that people often live better doing nothing and certainly much better doing something with results behind it. Joe C. Wasnt easy the first six months a while my health began to improve. Blood pressure went down, along with many other health issues. Mike promotes a vegan diet to cure cancer, while I believe it can be a good thing I havent personally seen it cure cancer. These last few months I have started mixing in some animal protein on a limited basis, grass feed beef and some quality chicken. My blood HDL Cholesterol was to low ( used to be high!) so decided to mix in a bit of animal protein to see if I can get it back within normal range. It to me all boils down to research and decide what is the best fit for you. I have for five years now been watching the budwig group and seen many success stories. I have had two friends while living well with Melanoma liver mets try the budwig and live 18 months past the sixteen month death sentence on the budwig plan. Of course both these people were in there 70s so there immune system wasnt as strong. People who ask me I always recommend a vegan diet, budwig or otherwise when first dealing with cancer. Just my two cents. Mike M
Guest guest
what is considered " too low " for cholesterol? I have always heard of too high but never heard of too low. Guest guest
From what I understand anything on cholesterol below 130 is to low, HDL cholesterol below 40 is to low, mine was 26 last blood work and my regular cholesterol was 120. So I decided to do whatever it takes to keep all my blood levels within normal range... get my blood work in July we will see if it has worked! > > what is considered " too low " for cholesterol? Guest guest
Do you mind sharing what you're doing for your cholesterol? Guest guest
I am also interested to know what you are doing about " low cholesterol " as my husbands is at
Guest guest
Well I have taken it upon myself just to add a bit by eating healthy organic grass feed beef, free range chicken etc. Plants dont contain cholesterol so only way I know would be to eat some in the form of animal products. I havent gone overboard small portions twice a week or so. I will know if it works next month when I get my blood work. I must confess I do enjoy a good steak or chicken breast! lIke Joe mentioned main stream medicine goes overboard on high numbers, my regular Dr wasnt to concerned with my low numbers.. Perhaps that because they dont have a drug for low numbers... Ya think? > > I am also interested to know what you are doing about " low cholesterol " as > my husbands is at 124 > > >

Perhaps that because they dont have a drug for low numbers... Ya think? You've got that right, Mike. Since there is a pill to lower cholesterol, then lower cholesterol must be better! It took three years of vegetarian eating for me to get my cholesterol under 200. It now ranges from 190 to 160 (total). My doctor wants it down to 130. I think he's crazy. When he lectures me about it, I just laugh. ar
Guest guest
Don't you dare let him get you that low but you don't need me to tell you that. you know. We cannot begin to imagine the cash flow from Statin drugs and there is strong evidence that it does reduce the risk of Heart Attacks BUT, there is also a lot of evidence that the heart attacks that do result are more likely to be serious and result in death. Guest guest
Oh, he didn't mention any drugs. He wants me to do aerobic exercise for 1/2 an hour three times a week and eat fish. Neither of which are going to happen. ar > > Don't you dare let him get you that low but you don't need me to tell you that. you know. > > We cannot begin to imagine the cash flow from Statin drugs and there is strong evidence that it does reduce the risk of Heart Attacks BUT, there is also a lot of evidence that the heart attacks that do result are more likely to be serious and result in death. > > Joe C. Guest guest
The closest I get to fish is my grandson catching them............in a picture and, of course, there's always a quality fish oil. More important than total Cholesterol is, apparently, the ratio between high and low. It is simply an over-blown issue as is Hypertension provided the numbers are not in the Stratosphere. I have been hypertensive for more than 35 years now and yes, the ball-game isn't over but after working out today it was 111/63 which is low..........so working out is good. Joe C. Guest guest
Joe, My blood pressure is normally 90 over 60. The more raw veggies I eat, the higher it goes, oddly enough. I worked out with a trainer for many years, can't do it anymore. I have a connective tissue disease which makes it very difficult for me do aerobic anything. I tread water and walk, and that's about all I can handle. Well, the treading water tends to be pretty painful. And the walking depending on where the current injuries are... Oh well. ar > > The closest I get to fish is my grandson catching them............in a picture and, of course, there's always a quality fish oil.
