Guest guest
Studies show that four cups per day are needed to actually impact existing disease. Also, just to put this out there,....olive leaf extract has polyphenols 2x times more potent than green tea. The Trouble with Green Tea More from RealAge.com Lower Your Risk for Chronic Diseases By RealAge Did you know that most of the free-radical fighters in green tea never make it to your bloodstream? But there's a solution. To get a better grasp on the healthy catechins in your green tea, flavor your cup with a squeeze of citrus juice. Green Tea Booster Catechins -- the antioxidants in green tea famous for lowering your risk of chronic disease -- quickly lose their power in your intestine. In fact, as much as 80% of the catechins in green tea are never absorbed. The solution to boosting absorption, researchers recently found, is as simple as flavoring your tea with freshly squeezed and strained lemon, orange, lime, or grapefruit juice. Taking Tea with C The vitamin C in citrus may help with absorption by increasing the acidity in your small intestine. Other unidentified substances in the juice probably lend a hand, too. Researchers found a 50-50 mix had the greatest catechin-preserving effect, and lemon did it best, closely followed by orange, lime, and, in last place, grapefruit. It's Not All Bad News If you do take steps to boost the power of your green tea, you may even get a few added benefits. It may help you lose weight. At least one study shows green tea can stimulate moderate weight loss. It may help keep your knees young and strong -- catechins fight inflammation and arthritis. It can help your skin look great if used in conjunction with an antioxidant cream. Dab it on. It can help you stay sharp -- try 2 cups a day to see benefits. Guest guest
Good info on green tea. Keep in mind that one cup of the green tea I gave you probably equals 4 cups of regular green tea from a teabag since it's much stronger. -- Re: [ ] Green tea absorbs better with acid added Studies show that four cups per day are needed to actually impact existing disease. Guest guest
Antioxidant structures typically defined as an acid as they donate hydrogen. Once the hydrogen is donated, what is left, (attached to carbon ring,) is double bonded oxygen. The polyphenols and catechins in olive leaf/green tea can have as many as 64 oxygen molecules mostly showing as -OH, group! After they carry out their classic antioxidant reaction and give up the H+, then that means there is a whole lot of doulbe bonded oxygen hanging off carbon rings. Measuring the strength of antioxidants is related to how many hydroxide free radicals can they neutralize,...or,....how many hydrogens can the donate? So, there is no question that complex polyphenols and tannis/catechins, donate alot of hydrongen, leaving a lot of naked, exposed oxygen. The question I have. Could it be that antioxidants are really oxygen therapies and would this explain why we are seeing them used in other disease protocols that treat viruses (anaerobes.) Guest guest
To enjoy more of the benefits of tea willbe to grind it to powder and take them whole. Most of tea beverages, green tea or woolong tea sold in Japan are Vit C added after extraction. Then bottled. Here is a tech and experiment to make kombucha scoby tea from those bottles. Woolong tea works best. Just open the bottle and drink some to make air space, then shake well. Repeat several times a day for 7-10 days. Oxegen will use up its vitC and the scoby shows up in the bottle. I discovered this and told everybody but none responded...Ghhhh isao

Guest guest
Hm. I wonder if this was the origin of a Kombucha scoby? I've noticed that it's pretty easy to start a vinegar scoby ... just take a bottle of red wine, and put a piece of cloth over the top to keep flies out. The wine will turn to vinegar. I can't drink tea though .. it gives me an upset stomach, and kombucha starts migraine symptoms. I don't know why.
