Guest guest
This, the business of Oncology, this business is the Master at number crunching and fakery. While we all want encouraging news, after 40+ years of a Failed War On Cancer, we must be skeptical about their findings. We know what they have done over the years with earlier diagnosis being added to the usual 'survival times' for cancer making survivability look better and what isn't mentioned in this article is whether the percentages they are using are 'Relative or Absolute'. Using one over the other can be very misleading. For example, 2 months of additional life might be considered a 50% improvement over earlier statistics. I am not minimizing living 2 months longer but if an Oncologist offered someone only 2 months of additional life after a horrendous treatment plan vs a 50% improvement over earlier plans, one might think twice before jumping onto the conveyor belt. Regardless of this article, it is obvious this 'new' system brings in a lot more dollars. Joe C. #445 : Free Weekly Newsletter by Ralph W. Moss, PhD. May 30, 2010 CHEMO FOR LIFE?
