Guest guest
Here is one note that I have but no source. Moreover, we observed a dose-dependent decrease in intracellular ATP levels in cells treated with high-dose EGCG. Now what is high-dose? It seems at low dose EGCG is an anti-oxidant and at high dose its a pro-oxidant. Here is a web site that explains it alittle more, its for dogs but the same thing happens in us. http://www.dogcancerblog.com/anti-oxidants-versus-pro-oxidants/ Rather, they typically have pro-oxidant effects. Selenium, EGCG, IV vitamin C and others are like this. Some so-called antioxidants at high levels have other ways of killing cancer cells, like inhibiting certain enzymes (curcumin inhibits topoisomerase II). This one gal, on her site she takes one dose of curcumin of 8 grams at one time and this is a pro-oxidant dose, when she took smaller doses thru out the day she did not get any benefit. Her site: http://margaret.healthblogs.org/life-with-myeloma/discovery-of-curcumin/my-curcu\ min-protocol/ Maybe someone can explain how to figure out when a dose is anti or pro oxidant??
