Iodine and thyroid ca. (was: using thyroid hormone to supress Papillary cancer)

I'm so confused about Iodine!!! My Endo actually told me to cut down on Iodine

because he said it encourages thyroid cancer to grow. He even recommended that

I stop eating seaweed which is one of my favorite foods!! Which is true??!!

by the way, I stopped taking the Synthroid. It was making my thyroid ache and I

swear the tumor actually got larger. It's based on theory anyway I think, and

almost nobody out there has tried it unless they had Hachimoto's which I don't.

Feeling very discouraged these days.
