There is an article in today's LA Times: " The Great Spill in the Sky "

in which it points out that the BP oil spill in the Gulf extrudes

daily about 8,820 tons of crude oil -- toxic oil that is physically

sickening to clean-up crews. Yet California alone disgorges 2,215

tons of hydrocarbons into the air from these same fossil fuels

causing additional life-threatening chronic illness. This is part of

the reason that we begin our program with detoxing as much as possible.

Deep-fat-fried Twinkies, Klondike Bars, and sticks of butter cause or

worsens every type of chronic health problem and has no redeeming

value beyond taste, but there is one additional sad fact: For every

one percent increase in fat we consume there is a 0.8% decrease in

cellular immunity. Cellular immunity is the main type of immunity we

need for fighting cancer.

The people who consume these deep-fried marvels are not the kind of

people who come to our retreat center. They listen to the advice of

their conventional physicians who can also be found queued up to be

physiologically bludgeoned by grease.

And yet, many of these people will never develop a horrible disease that will

bankrupt them while they are young. Heck, many will probably live longer than I

will.

I'm always surprised by who gets cancer and who doesn't. The world is a strange

and mysterious place.
