Guest guest
I feel that much of the progress I made over the summer is at least partly attributable to greater sun exposure. With winter fast approaching, I'd like to be pro-active this year. I am thinking of getting one of those Sperti Sentosa lamps. It apparently emits 73% UVA & 27% UVB. Now when I read about sun rays on Wikipedia, it says " The Sun emits ultraviolet radiation in the UVA, UVB, and UVC bands, but because of absorption in the atmosphere's ozone layer, 98.7% of the ultraviolet radiation that reaches the Earth's surface is UVA. " Apparently, it's the UVB that's largely responsible for tanning & burning. I see that tanning beds emit anywhere from .8% to 10% UVB. I'm not about to spring for a tanning bed but wonder if visits to a tanning place might not be better than actually buying and using a Sperti lamp. Any information/input would be appreciated.
