Guest guest
This is my opinion based on facts from discussion with other health care professionals and researchers. I have read numerous research papers and clinical studies on many species of medicinal mushrooms from researchers from around the world. My conclusion is that most miss the boat when it comes to looking at the all of the nutrition from medicinal mushrooms. 99% of these studies state that they take an extract to obtain a few chemicals or molecules from the mushroom but they leave behind all of the other wonderful chemistry, minerals and vitamins that are in medicinal mushrooms. This is why I see better results from using the whole product as a food or ground up powder. Medicinal mushrooms have thousands of different chemistry with many minerals, vitamins, amino acids and enzymes that are helpful to the human body. Not understanding all of them should not be a reason for not using them. We have been eating them raw for thousands of years why not provide them as a powder so a large enough dose is available for all to benefit. Medicinal mushrooms have an established history of use in traditional oriental therapies. Modern clinical practice in Japan, China, Korea, parts of Europe and other Asian countries continue to rely on mushroom-derived preparations, they say derived, not mushrooms in the whole form. Medicinal effects have been demonstrated for many traditionally used mushrooms (Ooi and Liu 2000), including extracts of species from genera Auricularia, Flammulina, Ganaderma, Grifola, Hericium, Lentinus (Lentinula), Pleurotus, Trametes (Coriolus), Schizophyllum, and Tremella (Wasser 2002). I see that many of these researchers have a hopeful idea to find one chemical or molecule, test it and then, if it works then to alter/change it by adding other molecules to it, so they can patent this new substance and call it a drug. The motive is the ($$$$), but they end up with a product with poor results for the consumer who is suffering from a disease, and at a high cost to the consumer in the hundreds or thousands of dollars. This just does not make sense and there are more and more caring health care professionals who agree with me. Over the past four decades, scientific and medical studies in Japan, China, Korea, Europe and more recently the United States have increasingly demonstrated the potent and unique chemistry of mushroom extracted for the prevention and treatment of cancer but with no enormous immediate result. What we have seen, is wonderful results in boosting the bodies human system from the consumption of several rare strains of various species of medicinal mushrooms that were grown at the Pegasus Biochemistry. They figured out how to cultivate them commercially and safely, using special substrates (the food) for the various strains to grow on. There is an enormous amount of beneficial chemistry that comes from these mushrooms which has surpasses my expectations. I have personally witnessed several tumor and cancer patients with stage 4 cancers achieve total remission. Amazing but I see that the whole mushrooms are used and large doses - 20 to 60 grams a day were consumed with food in order to get the result but with no side effects.
