Guest guest
Naomi, I know what you are going through. I think stress is a big factor. Don't forget you are a woman and have children. That increases risk right there. You haven't said how old you are or whether you are overweight, but those are factors too. My gb problems started after finding out my aunt had terminal cancer. Then my gmother has it too. For six months, I did everything I could. I changed everything. I avioded everything. I tried everything I knew. My recommendation if you have surgery is to ask around. Find out who the best surgeon is. Get a second opinion if need be. Ask your Dr if he was having the surgery, who would he want to do it. Remember that 95 % (that is the commonly reported figure) of people who have the surgery come out just fine. I am so thankful that has been the case for me. Guest guest
OK I am ready to make a change in my life. OK I have survived my " 9 day gallbladder/I don't know what the heck it was attack " and I am ready to make changes in my life. I lost 6 pounds in the last 9 days from not eating and dehydration. I was in constant pain 24 hours a day and excruciating pain at night and could only sleep for ½ - 1 hour at a time. I could not take my pain meds because I kept throwing them up and my stomach muscles were killing me from vomiting. I could only eat small bites in the morning. If I ate after 1PM I would get very sick. I never got a fever. I do not want this to happen again. I stopped my antibiotics yesterday (day 9 because it was the first day I was pain free and I realized that I was having an allergic reaction to the Amoxicillin.) Every time I took the Amox, my heart would race, I would have rapid breathing and get hot flashes. I just thought it was from the constant pain I had been in. – Duh, I have an allergy to Amox! Today is the first full day in 10 that I am pain free! Hallelujah! Do you think it was coincidental that the pain stopped when I was in the waiting room to see the surgeon yesterday (A Boston hospital General Surgery Chairman)? I did some more research because the pain had definitely moved on day 5 from my gallbladder to about 3 inches lower. Now remember I told you I was taking 50,000 IU (yes that is correct) of Vitamin D because my parathyroid hormone level was high, well when I looked up pancreatitis, an elevated parathyroid was one of the causes. I printed out this page http://my.webmd.com/encyclopedia/article/4115.20941 and showed it to him and I told him I suspected I had pancreatitis and he said my labs were fine. (The labs he was looking at were from day 4 but I was shaking in my boots with intimidation that I did not argue with him). Plus this would be the guy who would do my surgery if I have it. He asked me why I did not want to have the surgery and I told him I was afraid to die.(not to mention that I would like to keep all my body parts and don't want diareah for the rest of my life, but I did not say that) He said that was reasonable and assured me I had a greater risk of dying on the highway. I asked if there were any alternatives and he said " no " . I asked about the flush, by explaining that you drink olive oil and he got very heated and said, " Maam, I can assure you that anyone with gallstones who takes olive oil will give themselves an attack and will land themselves in the hospital and will not get stones out of their gallbladder " . I pushed further and said but I did pass a stone and told him what I found in the toilet at the hospital (a stone) and he assured me that I did not pass a stone. (I know I did see and squish a stone but he was so mad I just let it cool down and left on good terms because he may end up taking my gallbladder out) I have another appointment with him in two weeks. OK at this point I am pain free, a little weak but motivated to change my lifestyle. I got a hold of Dr. Cabot's book and will be following that for the next 8 weeks followed by a flush. I have an appointment with my homeopathic doctor Saturday and hope that he will agree to follow me again now that I am back on the wagon! Thank you all for your help and support during this last week. And for just listening. No-one else in my family or friends will support my decision not to have my gallbladder removed. They think I am nuts. I pray that I can keep my gallbladder. Blessings, Naomi

Guest guest
Naomi, So glad you are feeling better and determined to save that gallbladder. Maybe the doctor mentioned it, but if you are allergic to Amoxicillin, you are also allergic to Penicillen and anything related to it...make sure you always tell any doctor you go to that, as each time you are exposed to an antibiotic you are allergic to, your reaction is inclined to become more severe. Keep us posted on your progress on the road to good health! L. The relief you're experiencing is because you have passed the offending stone, or it has dropped back into your GB. Pressure caused by bile trying to pass around a stone is what causes the pain. If stones are stuck in the bile ducts, my experience has been that the liver cleanse will flush them out. It was painless. Hi Adrienne, Thank you for your post. I agree I probably had a stone stuck in the beginning. I may have had a stone stuck from day 1 to 3 but the night of day 3 I massaged the heck out of my gallbladder and things did move. But that night -- 6 hours after massaging, I landed myself in the hospital in excrutiating pain. 12 hours after massaging I had an ultrasound that showed normal everything, and gallstones. I had elevated white blood cells showing the start of an infection which is why I was put on antibiotics. I am convinced that by massaging my gallbladder during an attack I squished whatever was or could have been stuck and left all that smelly guck which was released from the gallstone to irritate and infect my ducts. That is just my opinion. When I was able to observe a passed stone in my BM it floated and had an outer shell. But the shell was not too hard. I was easily able to crush it -- like a warm M & M candy -- do you know what I mean? And it smelled nasty which indicated to me it contained bacteria. So my conclusion is based on the fact that the begining of my pain for the first 3 days was caused by a stuck stone, the 3rd night was caused by an infection that I caused by massaging and crushing stones and the 4th and 5th day I got better. But day 6 through 9 I was worse again as the pain moved lower, it was not in my gallbladder but was just as intense indicating that something else was at work which is when I suspect I had pancreatitis which was undiagnosed because I was at home and I did not see the doctor again until the afternoon of day 9 when I saw the sergeon. I hope my experience helps someone else. I am not sure what I would have done differently, I guess I would have gone back to the hospital near the end to see if it was pancreatitis. I am sore again, so I hope it does not start again. I am doing the Liver Cleansing Diet, which is no dairy (very hard for me), no suger (very hard) and lots of fruits (not a problem) and vegetables (harder for me). Any suggestions for someone who really does not like carrot juice for the juicing part of this diet? I was thinking of trying celery juice with apple juice and see if that helps the taste but carrot is definitely out of the question. Take care all and thanks again for your kind support. It contains; 2 celery sticks 1 ounce of parsley 1/2 of a whole lemon 1/4 of a beet And the rest is carrot juice in a 24 ounce glass. Have it stained so there are no chunks of anything in the mix and keep it stirred so the lemon stays mixed otherwise there will be different levels of taste as the mix is consumed. This is the mix that I've taken for some years now as fairly regular as possible. I get it from a juice bar that knows my formula, at least most of the workers know it so all I have to do is call in and it'll be ready for me when I get there. You can see from the mix that it is loaded with anti-oxidants and is designed for the liver and kidneys. It may not be a drink for those dealing with candida but in time, after getting rid of it this, is a pretty fair drink to have. It really is close to one by Jay Kordich, which has apple as one of the components. Dale

Guest guest
Naomi, I had to LOL at this comment. I hope it did not worry you. I literally drank about 3 gallons of olive oil over 6 months and never once had an attack within the time frame that you could blame it on the oil. But if I ate pork, or hot dogs, (I know you are wincing) I had three days worth of attacks. Natural fats are good for you even in this condition. Dale is the ultimate testifier to that fact.
